    Hi MK,

    Thanks for reaching out to us! Sorry to hear about your frustration šŸ™ Let me try to help you on this!

    There’s an old file for the Events page that would delete. Can’t find it in the database…

    I’m not sure about what’s the particular issue you are having, can you elaborate on it? Is it an Event you are trying to delete? Or maybe it’s a template override – that’s located in ‘tribe-events’ folder inside your theme?

    Please let me know,
    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the follow-up! I get you now.

    I can see recurrence if I access it via ‘ugly URL’ (take a look), but not via ‘nice URL’ as you point out. So this looks like a permalink issue. Can you please regenerate permalinks? You can do so in ‘WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks’, just click ‘Save Changes’.

    Please let me know if re-generating permalinks fixes the issue,

    Hi Kathryn,

    Thanks for reaching out to us! Sorry to hear that snippet stopped working šŸ™

    Did you update our plugins or made a significant change in your site? What version of the plugins are you using?

    I would like to add a line between each event as per the blog posts

    I’m not sure about this, you mean like a divider? Can you point me to a URL so I can see this?

    Looking forward to solving this,
    Best,
    Nico

    Hi spottedinely,

    Thanks for reaching out to us and I’m really sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been hitting here since the 3.10 update. šŸ™

    I totally understand the frustration that comes when you expect something to work and it doesn’t. We’ve clearly let you down there but I’m confident that we can help you get things working smoothly again.

    Before we jump in, I do want to address one comment specifically:

    Why did you release something that appears to be untested?

    I’m truly disappointed to hear this because we do put in a significant chunk of time solely to testing the plugins before releasing any updates. In fact, we knew 3.10 was going to be such a big update that we dedicated hundreds of hours just to the quality assurance process and even opened the plugins up to a group of customers prior to the release to help us test. That said, this is the first report of an issue that has been reported related to Recurring Events since the 3.10 launch two weeks ago. I’m not saying there isn’t a real issue here and I’m really confident we can figure what what’s happening, but I hope you see the intentionality we’ve put into our work to release the best product possible and that this report isn’t reflective of not properly testing.

    Jumping into the recurring events issues you are having, will you please elaborate on what’s not working after the update? If you could walk me through the steps you’re following and what the outcome is (screenshot help too!) I’ll do my best to troubleshoot this with you and get things back on track.

    You also listed three additional issues you’re having. It would be great if you could open individual threads for each one so we can focus on one topic at a time and make sure we hit each one specifically. In the meantime, I’ll be helping you out with recurring events in this thread.

    Thanks again for reaching out and sorry again for any issues popping up here. Let’s start here and see what we can dig up and troubleshoot together for recurring events.

    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for reaching out on this, and also for searching the forums for a possible solution to this.

    For this to work the test site should be available to talk to other sites, that’s why I suggested the Local tunnel approach. Haven’t tested this myself and I guess the different software/services might have different config/setups I’m not sure of. Is it possible for you to test this in a live site? Maybe in a sub-folder of another live site?

    If that’s not possible I will try it myself but not sure if I can allocate much time for this test, as this not a bug on our product and configuration plays a big part on this working or not – I mean local server configuration, local firewall, local tunnel service config, etc.

    Let me know if you can test it in a live site, else I’ll try this myself locally and let you know,

    Hi Christy,

    Thanks for reaching out on this! Sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue, I’ll try to help you getting this right soon.

    … if I have it ending at a specific time on the last day (say 5pm), the event does not show up on the calendar for the last day.

    Let me see if I understand this correctly: you create an event which start date and end date are not the same, and the event is not an all-day event. The event is not showing correctly on month-view, the last day is not there. Can you confirm this? I tried to re-create this on my end but it’s working fine, any additional steps/settings I’m missing?

    A good starting point would be to confirm the following:
    Have you made any customizations to the calendar? Can you confirm this is happening with no other plugins active and with default WP theme?
    If the event starts and ends on the same day is this happening also? What about changing the end date to 1:00pm (or earlier) instead of 5:00pm, does it make any difference?

    Please let me know about those and if it’s possible please provide a URL where I can see the site,
    Thanks,
    Nico

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for reaching out to us! Hopefully there’s a Knowledge base article covering this: Required fields for events submission form.

    Please check that out and let me know if you can make it work on your end,

    Hey Stephan,

    Thanks for the follow-up!

    Couldn’t reach the site’s front-end via the URL you provided, a maintenance sign is showing there. Also deleted the credentials you sent as we are not allowed to login into client sites.

    Could you go trough the testing for conflicts guide? Have you tried deleting it and adding it back again?

    Please let me know about how this goes and I’ll continue to dig into issue,

    Hi Paul,

    I’m glad we could work it out šŸ™‚

    Strange thing I must admit! I don’t know why the update didn’t work as expected on your side maybe some kind of caching issue was messing with the version number, not sure. Most probably this won’t happen with the live site, as we haven’t heard of anyone else having this kind of problem. I always recommend taking a few minutes to make a back-up of the site and database before performing mayor updates to plugins or such.

    Regarding the CSS cheat sheet, there are many articles in our Knowledge base covering different customizations, but there’s not a ‘general’ cheat sheet. You can always hit the forums if you need any help on this!

    If you think this would be a nice feature to have, you are welcome to post it in our UserVoice page, as well as other ideas you might have.

    I’m going to close this topic – but please don’t hesitate to create new ones if you need help with anything else.

    Wish you luck with the site launch!

    Hi Kenny,

    Sorry to hear you are also experiencing this issue! While waiting for the maintenance release you can downgrade to 3.9 or try enabling Month View Cache to see if load times get better. Can’t confirm release dates, but if everything goes as expected 3.10.1 might be out next week.

    Thanks for your patience on this,

    Hi Christina,

    Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you getting this customized…

    We want the calendar to show ALL the events in a list on any given day in the MONTH View, instead of the ā€œView All 5 Eventsā€ link. Is this possible?

    You can change this setting in ‘WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Display tab > Month view events per day’, default value is ‘3’. Please note that this may affect your site performance, I recommend you enable ‘Month view cache’ (right under the ‘Month view events per day’ setting). For further details on this read more about performance considerations. We have received reports of month view slowdowns in sites with a high volume of events, a fix for this is being developed and will be included in upcoming maintenance release 3.10.1 of The Events Calendar.

    how can I cap the time on the WEEKLY calendar to run from 8am-10pm?

    Sure, please add this snippet to the main CSS file of your theme – located at ‘wp-content/themes/your_theme/style.css’:

    /* start at 8:00 AM */
    .tribe-week-grid-inner-wrap > .tribe-week-grid-block:nth-child(-n+8),
    .tribe-week-grid-hours > div:nth-child(-n+8) {
    display: none;
    }

    /* end at 10:00 PM */
    .tribe-week-grid-inner-wrap > .tribe-week-grid-block:nth-child(11),
    .tribe-week-grid-hours > div:nth-child(11) {
    display: none;
    }

    Please let me know how this goes,
    Best,
    Nico
