    Hope all is well.
I’m an enthusiastic user of EC + ECPro and even have a site featured in the gallery section of your EC site.
We are a BUSINESS CLASS developer and our EC license is current.

I’m reaching out because we are in the middle of a build of a new site for our client.
I just upgraded EC + ECPro to the new versions and the CALENDAR has disappeared.

It looks to me as though the LICENSE KEY somehow disconnected.
I can’t see where to make the connection or add the key in the backend of WordPress.
The LICENSE KEY tab has also disappeared.

    What gives?
I need to get this fixed/working ASAP.

Please send word on how to resolve.
Your assistance is appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

FYI, I also turned off all plugins, switched to 2015 WP theme and still no event calendar.
Please send word on how to connect my ECP license key ASAP.

Your assistance is appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for reaching out to us, really sorry to hear you’re in trouble. I’ll do my best to help you.

Please check if you are running two different versions of ‘The Events Calendar’ and ‘The Events Calendar PRO’, if that’s the case please update both to the latest version or to the same older version.

Also please take a look at this article, covering up most common installation issues: I can’t find where to enter my license keys.

    the CALENDAR has disappeared

You mean from the front-end of the site? The Backend? Both?

Please let me know how this goes and I’ll try to reply ASAP,
    Best,
    Nico

    Nico,

    Many thanks for the reply.

    A few things:
    EC + ECP Versions = all current V 3.10

I also turned off all plugins, switched to 2015 WP theme and still no
    event calendar.
When I click on the link (RIGHT HERE) in the back end of WP in EC,
    SETTINGS, I get a 404 error.

Also, there is NO LICENSE KEY TAB in SETTINGS to connect/activate key.

    What gives?
I need to get this fixed/working ASAP.

Please send word on how to resolve.
Your assistance is appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you =
    soon.

    Hey Paul,

    Thanks for the quick follow-up!

From the log you sent I see that you’re not running the latest version (‘3.10a5’ is the version of the Release Candidate). Can you please download and install final 3.10 versions of the plugins again from our site?

One important thing to notice is that plugins should run smoothly even without a license key, so that’s another clue pointing to the version miss match possibility.

Please let me know if re-installing 3.10 version of both plugins solves the problem,
    Best,
    Nico

    Nico,

So go the MT ECP site and get the download.
    Not the backend of WP?
    Right?

Indeed. From the top menu: My Account > Downloads.

    Nico what is ‘3.10a5?

At my account section of EC site I can download these two items:
    the-events-calendar.3.10.0.zip
    events-calendar-pro.3.10.0.zip

    Right stuff?
    Please advise.

    Nico,

So if I delete the current versions from the backend of WP before I “reinstall” the downloaded versions, will I lose any CSS or event entries that I’ve already made.

Apologies for the lame question but a full redo is no bueno.

I would really not like to recreate this content/CSS.
    Please advise ASAP.
    Thanks.

    Hey Paul,

Those two zip files are the right ones! The update won’t break template overrides or custom css, as those files reside in your theme folder (wp-content/theme/your_theme/…) not inside the plugin. Created events will stay the same as well.

You can check the Manual Updates knowledge base article for detailed instructions of the process. It’s quite simple, but if you have any doubts on how to do it, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    what is ‘3.10a5’?

That is the version number of the Release Candidate (almost the final version).

Please let me know if re-installing solves the problem,
    Thanks,
    Nico

Just deleted the older versions of EC + ECP
Reinstalled the new Version 3.10 of both from the Zip files downloaded off of the EC site.
Activated the plugins and went to the back end of WP to the EVENTS SETTINGS to get the CALENDAR LINK, clicked, and I am still getting a 404 error.
    Not good.

I can see individual event entries and my minor CSS edits are still intact.
I need a path forward here as ECP is not displaying any CALENDAR INDEX page.
    Where to from here?
    Assistance appreciated.

For whatever reason, in the back end of EC in SETTINGS, there is no TAB that allows me to enter a LICENSE KEY.

I only see the GENERAL, DISPLAY + HELP tabs.
No license entry, no CALENDAR displayed.
    Right?
So how do I connect my license?

    Paul,

Thanks for your patience on this and once again thanks for the follow up. Really sorry this is still happening. Let me say it’s something rather strange and we’re not hearing from other users about it. But let’s try to get mores clues about what’s causing this:

Are you looking in the right place? The Licenses page is specifically hidden in MU installs like the one you are running. You can not be looking at a site admin, you must be looking at the network admin. Please take a look at this screenshot: https://cloudup.com/cGcQc6JjRBD.

Are you seeing the features of Events Calendar PRO? For instance can you see the options to set up recurrence while creating a new event?

If we make no progress with those I’ll need to ask you to make a fresh WP install (in the same server) and try installing just ‘The Events Calendar’ and ‘Events Calendar PRO’ there. That way we can check if what’s happening is somehow related to the server environment.

Hope we can make this right soon,
    Best,
    Nico
