MemberThanks for following up Tom!
In the front-end of the site all users should be able to Submit and Edit their events (unless you change the config for this), but just see their own event on the front-end ‘My Events’ page. So the limitation would be to see other users events and edit those. This doesn’t work like WordPress default roles and capabilities. It just let users see the events they own and edit them.
If you are trying to customize this you’ll need to override the template for ‘My Events’ and conditionally load all users events if the role is equal to ContributorManager (for example). If the users has the correct permissions I think there will be no troubles viewing the edit page for the event and saving the data. I just did a quick test editing another admin user event, and it worked as expected.
Please let me know if this makes sense to you,

MemberAntonio,

MemberThanks for confirming!
We have a mixed site: no SSL for the public part of the site, and SSL for the members-only part that uses the plugin s2member. Our calendar is in the members-only SSL part of the site. Apparently that causes a problem with The Events Calendar.
Yes, I could find an existing bug report yesterday on this. The fix for this is planned to be released in the next maintenance release (there might be a small one soon but I don’t think this fix will make it).
Possible solutions for now:
- Use tha same protocol for both Home URL and Site URL
- Downgrade to version 4.3.2 of the plugins
- SSL insecure content fixer which helped some other customers
I’ve added your case to our bug report, this way you’ll get a reply when the fix for this is released. I’ve set the thread status to ‘Pending Fix’ for now.
Please let me know if any of the proposed solutions work for now,
Best,
NicoNico
MemberGenial!

MemberThanks for the quick follow-up! I’m stoked to hear this finally works for you 🙂
Perhaps this situation, your solution and/or a radio button solution can be used to enhance the plugin in the future.
The code in this thread will surely help some other folks with similar situations. But I’m not sure we would want to include this code in the plugin as the use case is a bit specific.
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, but if you need help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create a new one and we will be happy to assist you.
Cheers,
NicoPS: early evening here. Have a great one Jack!

MemberThanks for confirming Tamara!
Wow, you all must get this a lot since so many people use Yoast.
Yeah, I thought the same when I found the bug report. But there are not many occurrences of the bug logged, so that’s good!
Anyway, stocked to hear this helps for now 🙂
I’ll leave the thread in ‘Pending Fix’ status so you’ll get a follow-up once this is fixed + released.
Thanks,

MemberHey Jack!
Thanks for letting me know about this other thread! Andras already reached out to me about this.
I think both solutions are legit. Maybe the radio button makes more sense from a UI point of view (Why have an input if I can also select 1 or 0?). In any case I amended the script to account for the ‘manual input’ scenario you mentioned:

Please let me know if it works for you,

Saludos,

MemberHi there Nick,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to hear about this issue 🙁
Let me say I’m not quite sure what’s going on. Can you please elaborate a bit more on the issue? Maybe sending a link to see this in the site or a screenshot will help!
Thanks,

MemberHi there Michael,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to hear about the issue 🙁
I just gave this a try locally and it’s working as expected. Let’s troubleshoot this for a bit! Can you please send me the URL to see this page? Also, do you have the same trouble with the default calendar view?
When you switch the theme can you also disable non-tribe plugins? Any difference?
Please let me know about it,
Best,
