    Hi pixurro,

The translation file for Events Calendar PRO is in the plugin, so your site is already using it- you don’t need to do anything extra. However, the files are so out of date that the line numbers may be wrong, which means that the translations don’t work even if the word is actually in the .po file. At the very least the files need to be updated with the latest .pot file as described in the Getting Started post.

    Hi JRomao,

Thanks so much for these! The files look great and I’ve added them to our plugin. I’ve credited you in the readme.txt file.

    Hi pixurro,

Thanks for that information. The reason you are seeing so many words in English is because the Catalan translation is really outdated. All of our plugins are translated by volunteers, and no one has worked on this one since version 3.0. Would you be interested in updating the translation? That would fix your site and we’d give you a free license in exchange.

If you are interested, check out the Getting Started post where you’ll find the instructions and files you need. If you are not able to translate it, you’ll unfortunately need to wait for someone else to update the files.

    Hi pixurro,

Thanks for getting in touch. Can you tell me which language you are using, and also which versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO you are using? That should help me fix this for you.

    Hi des1amgeert,

To update the existing Dutch .po file, you’ll need to update it with the latest .pot file. This is explained (and the .pot file is downloadable) in our Getting Started post.

WordPress needs both the .po and .mo files in order to work. To make a .mo file, simply save the .po file in PoEdit- a matching .mo file will be automatically created in the same folder. Does that answer your questions?

    Hi Anna,

Thanks for your help with this. Next time if a plugin doesn’t have a .po file for your language, you can use the .pot file and resave it. The test file was a little outdated so there are some strings you didn’t get to translate. I have updated the file you made with the new strings. Please download it from here and complete it. Don’t worry about the .mo file- I can generate it myself, as long as you send the .po file. Once you do that, I’ll test it out and then send you a coupon for a free license for Filter Bar.

    Hi Anna,

Thanks for your post. I’m glad you were able to find the wp-config.php file.

The reason that you are not seeing some of the front end translations is because 1.) the translation is outdated and 2.) the days of the week and months are translated by the WordPress translation files, not our plugin’s translation files.

To get the days of the week and months translated, you’ll need to find the Icelandic WordPress files from the WordPress Codex. Once those are installed, those terms will be translated.

Our Icelandic translation is quite outdated, but we’d love to have you work on it. I have updated the files for you so that they have all the new and changed strings ready for you to translate. You can download them here. Once they are done, you’ll want to add them to your plugin’s /lang folder (replacing the old ones) and also share them here. That way I can add them to the plugin for other Icelandic language users.

As a thank you for your work, we will give you a free license for Events Calendar PRO. Please make sure you translate for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO so that we have a complete set. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here and I’ll help out.

    Hi Oliver,

Thanks for working on the updates!

    1. Did you make sure to update the existing German files with the latest .pot files from the Getting Started post? That will correct the file so that the strings are translated (it’s working on my test site). You’ll want to make sure to do that for all of the files you’re updating.

    2. I believe this is the same issue as above- that string is now translatable, so you should just need to update the Community Events .po file with the latest .pot file.

Let me know if you need any help, and thanks again for your help!

    Hi jhonnavaro,

Thanks for your patience while I took a look at this. Your Community Events update looks complete and I will add that to the plugin. The one for The Events Calendar looks good too, although I haven’t tested it yet. The one for Events Calendar PRO is incomplete- it needed to be updated with the latest .pot file to add all the latest changes. I’ve updated it so you can translate the new and changed strings. You can download it here.

Once the PRO translation is done, I will test it alongside your update for The Events Calendar. Thank you so much for your help!

    Hi Geert,

Thanks for your patience. I took a look, and indeed that file does not exist anymore. It’s still referenced in the .po file because the .po file is out of date. That string is now referenced from events-calendar-pro/lib/SingleEventMeta.php and events-calendar-pro/views/pro/modules/meta/additional-fields.php.

    Hi Austin,

Thanks for your post. We are still planning to integrate with WPML, but it is not currently compatible. If you’d like to stay updated on our progress, you should add your vote to our UserVoice page. We will update there as we go. I’m afraid I don’t know the specifics on what is not compatible- it varies depending on your set-up, and I’m not terribly familiar with it. I recommend you try it out with our core The Events Calendar and see if it might still work for you. Thanks for your patience while we work on full compatibility.

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for getting in touch. Events Calendar PRO does not have a built-in way to show only certain days of the week. It does come with a Week View, but that shows Sun-Sat. If you wanted to remove some days of the week, you’d need to dig into customizing the calendar yourself. Does that answer your question?

    Best,

    Leah
