ParticipantHi Leah,
Today I started to translate V3.6.1 to German.
1.) Unfortunately I wasn’t able to fully translate the calendar widget. For recurring events it’s missing some parts as you can see here (switch to the 27th of June or the 2nd of July:
http://www.treffpunkt-jazz.deWords like “first”, “last”, “Recurring Event (See all)” are not translated.
Is this a bug (textdomain not used?)? In which part of the calendar is the widget located? (filename?)2.) When creating new events in the frontend there is one sentence, which can’t be translated:
http://www.treffpunkt-jazz.de/events/community/add/
-> “Leave blank to hide the field. Enter a 0 for events that are free.”Best regards for your help,
OliverJune 27, 2014 at 3:52 pm #256068Leah

MemberHi Oliver,
Thanks for working on the updates!
1. Did you make sure to update the existing German files with the latest .pot files from the Getting Started post? That will correct the file so that the strings are translated (it’s working on my test site). You’ll want to make sure to do that for all of the files you’re updating.
2. I believe this is the same issue as above- that string is now translatable, so you should just need to update the Community Events .po file with the latest .pot file.
Let me know if you need any help, and thanks again for your help!
Best,
Leah

MemberHi Oliver,
You can download the updated German files here. You’ll notice that there are some untranslated and changed strings at the top of the file- those are new ones since the last translation. Updating the file also corrected line numbers, etc. on many of the translations. The translations for recurring events should now be getting pulled correctly from the translation file into your widget, just as mine does.
Best,
Leah

MemberHi Oliver,
Thanks for following up here. It turns out that the issue is not in the translation file, but it has something to do with the code in 3.6.1- I suspect it’s something like a text-domain issue or similar. The good news is that it is working properly in the beta code for 3.7. So if you can hang tight, we’ll have the fix available to you in our upcoming release 🙂 Thanks for your patience!
Best,
Leah

MemberHi Oliver,
Would you mind starting a new thread in our PRO forum to discuss that? That way we’ll be able to focus on that issue, which I believe is related to our date format settings and not the translation. Thank you!
Best,
Leah
