Thanks Volker. I will include the widget translation issue in our ticket to be fixed in an upcoming release. Thank you again for the report!

    Hi again Jes,

Thanks for your patience. I have good news! We have added a filter so that it is possible to change the word events with just a snippet. It’s not a built in setting, but it’s still a relatively simple thing to do. The change will be available in our upcoming release, 3.10. Once that version is available, we’ll also update the existing tutorial with the new code. Then you’ll just need to plug that in, and you’re good to go. I double checked and made sure that this solution will work for non-English sites too.

I’ll do my best to update you here when we release the new version and update the tutorial. Thank you for your patience in the meantime 🙂

    Hi John,

Thank you so much for working on this! I’m glad to have a “translation” for our UK users. I’ll add the files to the plugin for the next release. I’ll also email you shortly with a coupon for a free PRO license.

I also appreciate your eagle eyes on the spelling/grammar errors. I’ve ticketed “aprox” to be fixed. I wasn’t able to find the instance of “i’m”… any chance you remember where that was?

    Hi Jes,

I’m sorry to hear that those other plugins didn’t work for you. I’d love to have you submit the setting idea on our UserVoice page– that way other people can vote on the feature too, and encourage us to consider it for a future build.

As far as I understand, there is not a way to make that snippet work for a non-English site. I am double checking with our developers on that point and on the possibility of another solution that might work for you once our next release comes out. I’ll respond here once I hear back from them. Thank you for your patience!

    Hi memeco,

Thanks for your note. We do have our Tickets plugins which allow folks to register for a specific event. However, there is no built in way for people to show which events they are attending. I hope you can find something that will work for you!

    Hi Yannick,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Unfortunately, our plugin is not yet compatibility with multi-lingual plugins like Polylang, qTranslate, or WPML. We are hoping to improve this compatibility in the future, but at this time we can’t provide support for them. Please know that working on this is one of our priorities for 2015.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have a UserVoice thread for this feature so you can vote on it. Adding your vote there will also allow you to stay updated as we make progress. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work on this!

    Hi Tomas,

Thank you for your note. We’d love to have you help with the Czech translations, but we ask that our volunteer translators update the files themselves. We also ask that you do a complete update each time, for both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO.

Please read over our article on Adding or Updating a Translation. You’ll find all the instructions and files you need there.

    Thank you,

    Leah

    Hi Volker,

Thanks again for your patience. It sounds like you have found a small bug in our recurring events translation. We have ticketed it to be fixed in an upcoming translation. We will let you know when that is ready for release.

Can you tell me what version of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO you are running? Also, can you send me a screenshot of the widget you are describing? I might be able to give you a temporary solution for the translation.

    Thank you,

    Leah

    Hi Molodets,

Thanks for your note. Is it possible that you are using the github repo for The Events Calendar, and thus using our latest development code? The latest code (which is still in progress) includes a change in the Find Events string which would cause this issue. If you are using the normal 3.9.1 release, it should work perfectly.

The solution to this issue is to do a new French translation of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO using a new .pot file made with the latest 3.10 code. If you’re willing to do that, please let me know and I can send you the files you need. Otherwise you’ll need to wait for someone else to update the French translation after 3.10 is released.

    Thank you,

    Leah

    Hi Jes,

Thanks for your note. I’m sorry that the tutorial only works with English sites. One option for you is to edit the Danish translation files to change the word Events. However, that can be difficult because the files need to be kept updated as new version of our plugins come out. Plus, your translation can be overwritten when we release new versions.

I recommend that you try using another string-changing plugin, such as Say What? Hopefully that will work without any errors and make it easy for you to change the words.

    Hi John,

Thanks for getting in touch and for working on the en_GB translation. A translation is the best and easiest way to change the spelling of organizer across the site in a way that won’t break when the plugin is updated. I would love to have you upload those files so that I can add them to the plugin for others to use.

Might you be willing to do a similar translation for Events Calendar PRO? We’d be happy to give you a free license in exchange. We always prefer to having matching translations for both core and PRO. If you’re willing, please read over our article on Adding or Updating a Translation. You’ll find all the instructions and files you need there.

    Cheers,

    Leah

    Hi tanyazailer,

Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, our plugin is not yet compatibility with multi-lingual plugins like Polylang, qTranslate, or WPML. We are hoping to improve this compatibility in the future, but at this time we can’t provide support for them. Issues like this do not have an easy solution (if any) and there isn’t much we can do right now. Please know that improving this compatibility is a priority for us this year as we know that many people use it.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We have a UserVoice thread for this feature so you can vote on it. Adding your vote there will also allow you to stay updated as we make progress. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work on this!
