MemberGood news everyone!
We’ve just release a maintenance release that addresses this issue. Please look for updates to your Events plugin(s) on your site. Thank you for your patience while we worked to address the reported issues. And don’t forget to review the release notes for all the details on version 4.0.3.
While our testing shows that the new release fixes the problem reported here, sites are different and it’s possible that there are edge cases. If you are still seeing the issue after you update your plugins, please post a new thread so we can look into it further.
Thank you for your support!

MemberHi Marcel,
For many folks, our plugins meet their needs right out of the box. However, depending on your theme, site set-up, and needs, users may need to do a little extra work to get what they want. We do our best to help people get things set up the way they need, but it does sometimes require a little code work.
We have considered making the website link a button instead. It’s not currently on the roadmap, but it is something we are aware of. I’d encourage you to add your vote to the feature page on UserVoice. The more votes we get there, the more likely we are to make the button a built-in feature.
Thank you for your support,
Leah

MemberHi papergecko,
Thanks for getting in touch. The best way to update from an old version is to do it in gradual steps. I’d recommend updating all of the plugins to 3.5, and then to 3.12, and then finally to 4.0 (or 4.0.1 or .2, as needed).
The first thing you’ll need to do is purchase a license for Events Calendar PRO and Eventbrite Tickets. That way you’ll have access to the latest version. We can then provide the older versions for you via email or here in the forum- just ask!
A lot of changes have happened since 3.0, so you’ll want to review our release notes for versions 3.1-4.0. You’ll particularly want to pay attention to the Things to Be Aware Of posts that we do for each major release. There are also some major changes in how to configure the Eventbrite Tickets plugin, so you will definitely want to review our tutorial.
Because so many things have changed since 3.0, it is likely that you’ll need to make at least some changes to your theme to get everything looking as you want. We always recommend that people update on a test site first so that they can watch out for these kinds of issues. While we can’t provide in-depth support for theming, we always do our best to help out. Once you have your licenses, you’ll be able to post in the premium forums for tips from our support team.
Cheers,
Leah

MemberHi mskopel,
We’d be happy to help you out. There’s no way to directly transfer a license, but we can refund this purchase so that your client can buy the plugin themselves, and with that purchase make their own user account. Please send us an email to support (at) theeventscalendar.com and include the receipt for your order. We’ll get the refund processed for you right away.
Best,
Leah

MemberHi Jen,
Using Event Tickets Plus requires having Event Tickets (the free core plugin) installed and active as well. Can you confirm that you have both installed and updated to version 4.0.2?

December 18, 2015 at 10:57 am in reply to: Is it possible to charge businesses for uploading a community event? #1043713Leah
MemberHi Paul,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins. There isn’t a built in way to do that, but it might be possible with some customization or a third party plugin. You can set up Community Events so that only registered site users are able to post events. You could potentially charge people a fee to become users, or otherwise tie in the membership piece. Might that work for your project?

MemberHi Alex,
Thank you for your interest in Event Tickets Plus.
When a user purchases a ticket and pays with PayPal (or another immediate online payment), WooCommerce will automatically mark the order as Complete, and then the user will automatically get an email with the order confirmation and the tickets. In that case the admin does not need to login and change the order status manually.
If you have your WooCommerce set up to allow offline payments (like a cheque) then the order status will need to be updating manually once the payment is received.
Does that answer your question?

MemberHi Darrel,
Another user from your website emailed us and asked for the same thing. You’ll now find a comparable license for Event Tickets Plus in your account 🙂

December 18, 2015 at 10:39 am in reply to: I need a ticket system, but are confused about which solution to choose. #1043699Leah
MemberHi Peter,
Thanks for your interest. Event Tickets is the free basic ticketing plugin, which allows you to collect RSVPs from users. However, you can’t sell any tickets. Event Tickets Plus is an add-on that you run with Event Tickets, and it added the ticket sales functionality. So if you don’t need to sell tickets, you can just use Event Tickets for free. But if you want to sell tickets you need to buy a license for Event Tickets Plus.
WooCommerce Tickets is our older legacy ticketing plugin, and it will not be updated any more. If you are wanting a premium ticketing plugin, Event Tickets Plus is the way to go.

Leah
December 18, 2015 at 10:28 am in reply to: Does Events Tickets Plus let you enter registration options? #1043694Leah
MemberHi Denise,
Thanks for your interest in Event Tickets Plus. At this time, that kind of registration is not a built in feature. However, we are actively working on adding it. I recommend that you add your vote to our UserVoice feature request page. That way you will receive updates as we make progress.
Thank you for your patience while we work on developing this much-asked-for feature!

MemberHi Karen,
Have you created any events in February, March, etc? By default the calendar only shows months that have events in them, and doesn’t link to an empty calendar view. If you create new events on the backend in those other spring months, they will then show up on the front end of the calendar.
If you do have events created in those months and they aren’t showing up, let us know and we can troubleshoot further.

Leah

MemberHi Marcel,
Since those files can get re-written when you have a theme update, you can instead put them in a custom plugin or in a child theme. That way your customizations will be preserved through updates.

MemberHiya Nickolas,
Sounds like you have a good idea to follow up! I can’t provide any additional help for customizing related events here in the Pre-Sales forum, but if you get stuff and want some help please post a thread in our Events Calendar PRO forum and the team there can try to point you in the right direction.
Cheers,
Leah
