ParticipantHi,
Couple of weeks ago I managed to convert the link on the singe event page into a button, as a link looks dreadful (especially, when it’s quite long). So this morning (Amsterdam) I was planning to update my WP site and your Plugin and went to the page in your knowledge base where I found the information to change this.
I think I need that again after updating the Plugin, but the page with this useful information is gone…
Can you please re-install it? I (and more folks) need it!
It used to be here:

MemberHi Marcel,
Thanks for posting! That tutorial was removed as there was some confusion over whether or not it was still relevant in 4.0. Thanks to you, the mistake was found and fixed! You can find the tutorial at that same url.
Cheers,
Leah

ParticipantThat’s great! I’ve got it working now.
While we’re on the subject, I want visitors who visit the link/button to do so in a new screen/tab (target=”_blank”). Can you tell me, and maybe add it to that page, how this is done?

MemberHi Marcel,
Good idea! I’ve added a new, slightly modified snippet to the tutorial that you can use. And now other folks can use it too!
Cheers,
Leah

ParticipantThanks,
Glad to see all info is back and works out fine.
Really frustrating to change all this every single time you guys update the Plugin. Is there a way around? I don’t think I can simply copy & replace functions.php and details.php, cause these would be just the ones you have changed for the updates I suppose?

MemberHi Marcel,
Since those files can get re-written when you have a theme update, you can instead put them in a custom plugin or in a child theme. That way your customizations will be preserved through updates.
Best,
Leah

ParticipantReally strange to buy a Plugin which needs so much work from my site. Why don’t you offer the possibility to show a button instead of this link? I’m pretty sure lots of users prefer that option over a an ugly link.
Same problem occurs when I enter a link in the venue/location and/or a link at the organization part…

MemberHi Marcel,
For many folks, our plugins meet their needs right out of the box. However, depending on your theme, site set-up, and needs, users may need to do a little extra work to get what they want. We do our best to help people get things set up the way they need, but it does sometimes require a little code work.
We have considered making the website link a button instead. It’s not currently on the roadmap, but it is something we are aware of. I’d encourage you to add your vote to the feature page on UserVoice. The more votes we get there, the more likely we are to make the button a built-in feature.
Thank you for your support,
Leah
