MemberHi Marya,
Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in our plugins. Events Calendar PRO does not include the ability for users to add events from the front end. However, our add-on Community Events does do that. You can choose to allow anonymous event submissions (with no login) but otherwise your users would log in via a form that looks like this: http://d.pr/i/j9wU (with a simple default theme). However, it will be pretty easy for people to figure out you are running WordPress.
You can decide if new events will be immediately published or set as drafts, and also set a notification email for each submission. You can read more about Community Events features on the product page and in the New User Primer.
Community Events can run with just our core free plugin, The Events Calendar. The Events Calendar has a simple Upcoming Events widget. Events Calendar PRO includes a more advanced version of that plus a mini calendar, featured venue, and countdown.
Let me know if I can answer any further questions.

MemberHey Don,
Thanks for pointing that out. I believe the problem is because we were running a slightly outdated version on the site (oops!) and needed to generate updated venue data. We’re fixing that so it’ll be smoother. Also, the search does in general work best with city and state searches (like Columbus, OH instead of Ohio) but we hope to improve that in the future.
Thanks,
LeahLeah
MemberHi invenice,
Thanks for your note. Unfortunately, The Events Calendar does not integrate 100% with WPML. It’s a known conflict and I apologize for the inconvenience. You could try searching around the forums for people who have found work arounds, but this isn’t really something we can help at this time. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully we can better integrate the two plugins some time in the future.

MemberHey Michael,
Thanks for your interest. We don’t have exactly that feature built in- at least, not something that will pull the artist’s names from the database as you describe. However, I think our Additional Fields feature would work for your purpose. With Additional Fields, you can add various new fields to your event listings. They can have re-inputted options or be text fields. You can see a demo and details here. I’d be happy to answer any other questions you have.

MemberHey brownjm,
I bet that was it. Many macs will automatically unzip safe downloaded files. You can always zip them back up by right clicking the folder and clicking Compress. That will put it back in a format that can be uploaded to your WordPress site.

MemberHi Karen,
Thanks for your reply. Is it causing problems with the tool tips in Month View or Week View or both? And are you saying it delays showing the event’s featured images? Thanks for confirming. More information will help us troubleshoot.

MemberHi folks,
Thanks for posting. We just released The Events Calendar 3.0.2 and Events Calendar PRO 3.0.4, so firstly I recommend updating to those. Also, can you tell me what themes you’re using? I’m wondering if that is causing a conflict here.
Thanks,
LeahLeah
MemberHi punctilio,
Can you confirm that you are running the latest of both The Events Calendar (3.0.2) and Events Calendar PRO (3.0.4)? Also, you said the weekday is properly set in the admin area. Do you mean in the general WordPress settings under Settings –> General? But it’s not working?
Thanks for confirming those things- that’ll be helpful as we start troubleshooting further.

MemberHi Karen,
Thanks for this report. Are you saying that Advanced Lazy Load breaks tooltips in The Events Calendar? or are you talking about a plugin called ToolTips? If it’s the latter, I’m afraid that’s not one of our products so we can’t be of much help ๐

MemberHi Brent,
Thanks for getting in touch, and I apologize for the delay in response. Events 3.0 included huge changes to the plugin, which can effect highly customized sites and themes like yours.
The behavior you’re seeing in the calendar widget is all correct, it’s just the newest iteration of the calendar itself. Instead of tooltips, you can click the date to see the events listed underneath. On initial load it lists the next upcoming. You can set the calendar to show no listed events on the widget page by setting the Number of Events to Show to zero. In that case, clicking the date will take the user to a day view listing the events. If you wanted to replace that move with a tooltip, you’d need to customize it. We may be able to point you in the right direction for that.
Hopefully that answers your questions. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help.
Best,
LeahLeah
