ParticipantHi Mike,
We have recently released the Filter Bar add-on which provides a way to filter by many things, including categories. (https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-events-filterbar/) It might also be possible to hack your theme to display only one category and then password protect that page, but it would take a fair bit of customization to do that and that’s something we couldn’t provide support for other than our provided Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/).
So I guess the answer is yes, if you’re up to the challenge?

P.S. Two of our tutorials might be of interest, although they don’t directly address your issue. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/display-categories-in-list-view/ https://theeventscalendar.com/how-to-hide-events-from-unregistered-users/

ParticipantHi John,
The quick answer to your questions is not really. Right now our multi-day events need to either be contiguous or have a regular recurrence. There may be ways to get around this, but they’re somewhat cumbersome. And your second question sounds to me more like you want to duplicate events. That might be possible with the help of an additional, non-Modern Tribe plugin (something like http://wordpress.org/plugins/post-duplicator/), but I haven’t tested it out.
I’m afraid it sounds like we’re not going to be much help in your situation.

I’m glad you got it working and I really appreciate you sharing your solution here too. Good luck with the rest of your project!

February 13, 2014 at 3:51 pm in reply to: Can events displayed on the widget calendar be color coded for their categories? #104295Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHi Kenny,
Yes! But it’s not built into the plugin. A trusted user developed an add-on that you can download from WordPress.org. http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/ If you install that, you should be able to do what you’re asking.
Will that work?

ParticipantHi eguidemagazine,
The best advice I can give you at the moment is that you are doing everything correctly. Currently, our recurring events feature only works with regularly recurring events, such as 4pm every Tuesday. However, we recognize this issue with non-regular recurrences and are working on a way to address them. We are working hard to get a solution out in an upcoming release. Hang in there, help is on the way!

ParticipantHi Chris,
I don’t think we’re the plugin you are looking for. Events are specific to each calendar and cannot be pulled into a master calendar at the present time. And as you suspected, the calendars import/export and do not acutely sync back and forth. We do work on multisite, but the plugin is intended to be licensed per site. There is a way around this, but it does require additional work as the auto-update feature is not available on every site then. And lastly, we do not have a “Go to today” button, but what a great idea? Would you be willing to add it to our UserVoice page for consideration for a future release? (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas)
I’m sorry to disappoint, but I want to give you an honest picture of the plugin’s functionality. If we can help you in any other way, please let us know.

ParticipantHi Connie,
That’s an interesting idea. I’ve not heard of what you are trying to do being done before, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible. Have you seen our documentation on WooCommerce Tickets? Perhaps this page has some relevant information? http://docs.tri.be/WooCommerce-Tickets/class-TribeWooTickets.html There’s also this bit of info too: https://theeventscalendar.com/moving-the-ticket-form/ It might be a bit tricky listing more than one event on a page, but I think it could be done.

February 12, 2014 at 5:44 pm in reply to: Using Tickets, Can I make paid members get theirs for free? #103963Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHey Gerard,
Well, first off, the plugins are not fully WPML-ready, so you should know that. As far as the member price issue is concerned, the plugin does not do that on it’s own. But it might be able to integrate with the WooCommerce or EDD ecosystems to provide for that. Have you checked out their options?

ParticipantHey Ann,
I’m not sure how much more help I can provide here. We’ve tried pretty much everything at this point.
One thing you could do to check your server’s default time is to create a new file, phpinfo.php, and add the following code to it:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
That’s it. If you could share a link to that page, we can check that out. If it is a server issue, you will have to get in touch with GoDaddy and they may or may not be willing or able to help out.
Other than that, the only other thing is to try a clean install of pretty much everything: WordPress, database, and plugins. You can find some good instructions here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_-_Extended_Instructions And be sure to grab fresh downloads of WordPress and the plugins too. That may be a little drastic, so it’s the last resort. This issue is something related to your install, it just happened to come out with our plugin.
Unfortunately, since we are unable to replicate the issue and it is inherent to your install, we are unable to provide additional support. Best of luck with the troubleshooting!

ParticipantHey Seth,
I mentioned this to a team mate and he had a snippet that might address your issue. Can you take a look at http://pastebin.com/QU2aMwBJ, particularly lines 3-4? Does putting that in your functions.php file solve the issue for you?

ParticipantHey andyroach,
Maybe I misunderstood, but your CSS changes should go in /wp-content/themes/ElegantFusion/tribe-events/tribe-events.css. Does that work?

ParticipantHi Gordon,
Challenging setup you have there! I’m not sure that the plugin can handle sending out to separate email addresses based on the data being input. That would be some major code-fu I think. But a possible, less daunting, workaround might be to add the organizer to the submission form and then add that to the message that is sent and then filter/forward those messages to the organizers using mail rules or a service such as IFTTT or Zapier. There would still need to be some customization of the plugin required to make that work, but take a look at this page https://theeventscalendar.com/change-required-fields-on-community-event-submission-page/ to get a feel for what that might look like.
Does that make sense? Will this work?

ParticipantHi Kate,
This is something we are looking at addressing in a future release, but I don’t have a time frame for you at the moment. I’m sorry I can’t be more precise for you.

ParticipantHey globemedia,
Thanks for that bit of information. I’ll pass it along to the developers as they work on getting a long-term solution in place. Really appreciate it!

ParticipantHey eurekasprings,
Sounds like the troubles you’re having might be because of a theme conflict with the CSS. Have you checked out our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) or Tutorials page (https://theeventscalendar.com/the-events-calendar-for-wordpress-tutorials/) for information that could help you sort it out?
