Hi there, Jordi! Welcome back to the forums. 🙂

Seriously great question. There currently is no way to re-order the additional fields directly in the Settings. That’s a great idea though and, if you have a moment, I’d encourage you to share it on our UserVoice page so it can be considered for a future release. I can see how others would find that feature useful as well.

That said, the best way to change the order of the fields is to output them individually in the order you want them. You can do this by overriding the single-event.php file (more on template overrides in our Themer’s Guide), then use the tribe_get_custom_field() function to call each field individually. So, something like:

    <?php echo tribe_get_custom_field('CustomFieldLabel', $eventID) ?>

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi there, Adam!

Shoot, sorry you’re running into this issue! I’ve seen it pop up before and it was the result of a conflict with another plugin. Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Thirteen theme, to see if the issue happens there as well?

If disabling the theme fixes it, that’s good news! It means we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict.

If the issue is still there when using the default Twenty Thirteen theme, then we can try testing for conflicts with other installed plugins. Using the Twenty Thirteen, please try deactivating all of your plugins, except for the ones from Modern Tribe. Does that solve the problem? If so, reactivate the plugins one at a time until the issue pops back up, then tell me which one was causing the issue.

These steps are also outlined here if you want some more details on how to test for conflicts.

Give those steps a shot and let me know what you find.

    Cheers!

Hey there, Massimo! Nice to see you again and hope all is well. 🙂

Great questions. Let’s see if we can tackle them one at time.

i need your help! there is a way to connect the authors of the post to the authors of the events?

If I’m following you correctly, then you are looking for a way to include include the name of person publishing the Event post on the Event page. Is this correct?

If so, you will need to override the single-event.php file (located at /plugins/the-events-calendar/views) by making a copy of it and dropping that copy in a folder in the your theme files called /tribe-events. These steps are detailed more thoroughly in our Themer’s Guide.

Once that file is in your theme folder, you can customize it to suit your needs. In this case, you can use the default WordPress get_the_author() function to display the name of the person who published the Event post.

another question, there is a conflict with WP float plugin.

We try to support as many other themes and plugins as possible, but can’t be compatible with everything. I do see that the WP Float plugin has not been updated in the last two years, so you may consider finding another solution that is more current since it is likely it is simply out of date.

    Cheers!

Awesome, thanks for confirming! Great job so far. 🙂

If everything seems to be working on the fresh site, then we know that we’re bug free. That’s great news because it tells us there is something else going on with the configuration, such as a conflict with the theme or plugin.

As a next step, please install and activate the theme you are using on the original site. Go ahead and publish some more events. Does the same issue come up? If so, stop testing and let me know so I can take a look.

    Cheers!

Hi there, Preben. Thanks for following up.

Correct, the “Default Events Template” will not display those sidebars right out of the box. If you would like to add registered sidebars to the template, you can override the Default Events Template to include them.

Our Themer’s Guide covers template overrides in thorough detail. In this case, you will make a copy of the single-event.php file (located in /plugins/the-events-calendar/views/) and add it to your theme files in a new directory called “tribe-events”.

Once the file is in there, you can customize it as needed. In this case, you can use the get_sidebar() function to include any sidebar needed in the template. There’s more on this function in the WordPress Codex.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. 🙂

Hi there, James! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back the forums. 🙂

I just tried visiting the site and was able to see the January link when viewing December:
    http://www.nyrevents.co.uk/training/courses/2014-12/

I was then able to click that link, which took me to January and where I saw all the events for that month:
    http://www.nyrevents.co.uk/training/courses/2015-01/

Were you able to resolve the issue on your own, or should I be looking somewhere else? Let me know and I’d be happy to check. 🙂

    Cheers!
