Hi there, Jason! Welcome back to the forums. 🙂

Good question. The PRO plugin does support custom patterns for recurring events. For example, you can set up a single recurring event that occurs just on weekday evenings. You can even set that recurring event to end on a specific date, whether it’s for one week or much longer. Here’s a screenshot of what that configuration might look like.

Also, it would be very cool to affect the title font-weight without having to dig into the css.

Absolutely, that would awesome. We try our best to provide both fully styled and fully stripped options for convenience and flexibility, but ultimately, the calendar CSS will rely on the the theme’s CSS as well. That means you’d likely wind up having to dig in there anyway.

That’s an interesting idea, though. You might want to submit it as a feature request on our UserVoice page. We check there often for popular ideas to roll into future releases.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Hi there, Consuelo! Nice to see you again. 🙂

Good question. Are you able to send me a link to the page you are referring to? That will give me a better idea of how I might be able to help.

    Cheers!

Hi there, Brian. Thanks for following up.

There’s no need to learn what an FTP app is–that was simply one route out of two recommendations.

It’s certainly puzzling that the download did not come to you as a ZIP file. I will send you a direct link to the ZIP file for the latest release in a private reply.

Once you have that ZIP file, you should be able to use the first set of steps outlined in my last response, using the WordPress upload option.

    Cheers!

Hi there, Gavin! Welcome back to the forums–nice to see you again. 🙂

Shoot, I see what you’re talking about. Definitely not good.

Map issues can pop up for all sorts of reasons. For example, Google limits the number of queries to its API per domain, which can cause the map to go blank. I don’t think that’s what is happening here, but just an illustration that we may have to try a few things to crack this one.

The first thing I want to do is confirm that the issue still popped up when you reverted to a default WordPress theme (e.g. Twenty Fourteen) and deactivated all other plugins. I see you tried those steps–thanks for that!–so did you see any difference?

Secondly, do you know if the theme any other installed plugins use the Google Maps API? I’m guessing we’ll find out in the first step, but I just want to make sure because a common issue pops up when two plugins are trying to add the API at once.

The third thing I’d like to try is verifying the addresses themselves. Will you please install and activate the Event Rocket plugin? This adds a “Coordinates” meta box (screenshot) to the editing screen for individual events, which allows you to see and refine the location of your event. Try confirming the location for the events with location to see if that makes a difference.

Give these steps a shot and let me know what you find. 🙂

    Cheers!

Hi there, Alex! Thanks for getting in touch.

Yes, you can print any single event as you would any webpage or post. There is no specific button on the event that will trigger that, but there is the possibility of customizing the single event template to include it.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Hi there, Jodie! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂

Shoot, I’m really sorry you’re bumping into this. Unfortunately, there is no way to associate individual names to transactions that include multiple tickets. You did a great job finding that feature request on our UserVoice page and it is something we hope to release along with an entire overhaul of our ticketing framework. I don’t have have a concrete release date for that release, but I’ve heard it could be very early 2015. Again, that may be more personal speculation than an actual target.

    1. Is there anything I can do other than hacking the plugin core to quickly get this functionality?

Adding additional fields to checkout is certainly possible. But, most methods that I have seen for doing that only add (at most) an additional field for each item type in the cart, not an additional field for each item in the cart. For instance, if you have two products, like two tickets for two separate events, then you could get two additional fields. But what happens when a user orders 5 of each? You still only get two additional fields.

A solution to that is to request that your user input the names as a comma separated list. If they purchase a ticket for three people, then they would need to input the following into the additional field (e.g. “Bob, Jane, Jack”).

    2. What other ticketing plugin could I use that would let me do this in woocommerce?

Honestly, I’m unfamiliar with any other WooCommerce-specific ticketing plugins. It’s possible you could use a WooCommerce checkout add-on though, admittedly, I have not seen any examples of anyone using it with our plugins. It looks promising, but there’s a possibility it wouldn’t integrate smoothly either.

I’m sorry I don’t have concrete answers for you, and I imagine these weren’t the exact answers you were hoping for, but I hope they help answer your questions.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Awesome, thanks Micah! We’re also super excited for what’s happening to tickets in the near future. 🙂

And, hey, if you have any great ideas you’d like to share, please post them to our UserVoice page. We check there fairly often for popular feature ideas to include in future releases. Let us know what you’d like to see, or vote on ideas from other people.

Also, if you have a moment, we’d love it if you shared a review of our plugins.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but please feel free to hit us up with a new thread if any other questions pop up. We’d be happy to help. 🙂

Hi there, Christian. Sorry, I know this is probably frustrating and I appreciate you sticking with me through this. 🙂

Are you using the Enfold theme? For some reason, that theme pulls functionality out of The Events Calendar plugin, including the default stylesheet options in the Event Settings. That explains why you would see the interface one way with a default theme activated, then another interface with Enfold activated.

We are aware of this conflict, but there is only so much we can do and some things have to be fixed at the theme level as well. If this is something that you would like to see addressed at the theme level, I would highly suggest contact the theme author (Kriesi) to let them know.

Again, I’m sorry you’re bumping into this. Hopefully the theme author will be able to help provide a solution or workaround to help address this.

    Thanks,
    Geoff

Shoot, sorry about that–I really thought that would solve the issue.

The other alternative is to modify the plugin template file itself. In this case:

    • <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>Make a copy of additional-fields.php (located in /plugins/events-calendar-pro/views/pro/modules/meta)</span>
    • Create a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
    • Create a folder within that called modules
    • Create a folder within that called meta
    • Drop your copied additional-fields.php file in the tribe-events/modules/meta folder

You can find more information on these steps in our Themer’s Guide.

With the additional-fields.php file in your theme files, you can customize it to suit your needs. You will see “Other” in there, which you can change to anything else you like.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi there, Varga!

I understand you already gave that a try–and thanks for doing that.

The next thing I would like to try here is creating a fresh test site–this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we’ve effectively got a “clean canvas” to work with.

    • Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory (if you have a CPanel-type hosting account there will probably be a one-click install script to make this really easy)
    • Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO
    • Please also stick to a default theme – again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet!
    • Create a few events so we have some test data to work with
    • Can you replicate the same problem?

If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop and let us know so we can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.

    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks, Massimo!

I do want to note first of all, though, that we are fairly limited in terms of helping out with custom development questions like this one. That said, we’d love to point you in the right direction if we can.

I would suggest modifying the template you are using for the author page and pull in events using the WordPress get_posts() function to query the Events post type (“tribe_events”) by author. You can find more info on using this method in the WordPress Codex.

Sorry I don’t have a concrete code to share, but I hope this points y0u in the right direction. 🙂

    Cheers!
