MemberHello @hopeforrecoverynh,
So glad you reached out and asked before purchasing because you do not need PRO for Community Events. Save your money. 🙂
PRO does include the ability to create additional fields for events, which can also be used in the Community Events submission form, but PRO itself is totally not required for Community Events to function on its own.
Thanks for reaching out! Feel free to let me know if I can help answer anything else.
Cheers!
GeoffP.S. I’m being a little presumptuous here, but your username sounds like it could be tied to a non-profit cause. If you are planning on using Community Events on a non-profit site, please do check out our non-profit program because we offer free product licenses for qualifying organizations. 🙂

MemberHi Carlos and thanks for following up!
It sounds like you might be looking for something that provides access to an ongoing, restricted section of your site rather than tickets for events. WooCommerce Tickets will indeed create tickets for your daily events, but those tickets and events do need to be created daily if you want them to be connected together. Otherwise, a general ticket would check someone into any event rather than the single one it was intended for.
Sorry this doesn’t sound like a fit, but cheers for reaching out and checking with us!

MemberHey Marc,
Awesome, I’m glad that first bit of CSS helped out!
We want to keep the “Event Description” after all, but hide…
You can still use the same CSS tactic to accomplish hiding other elements on the page as well. If you need help finding exactly which elements those are, here’s a great article on how to do that using DevTools in your browser.
I ALSO need to add description text to the labels for…
I think the text replacement method used in this Knowledgebase post will help out in this case.
I need to change the title “Event Categories” to rather say “Target Audience”
Give that last link I shared a try here as well. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Lara!
The last thing is the single date. You said to modify the start and end date formatting, but if I modify the start date to have the year, won’t that mean that if there is a date range (October 2-4, 2015) it will show like this (October 2, 2015 – October 4, 2015)?
Not if you modify it for the $microformatStartFormat and $microformatEndFormat variables. Notice that those are specifically geared for the single event cases.
Not that you may be able to get away with changing some of the settings in Events > Settings > Display to get a similar effect–but probably not exactly.
Also, I just noticed I need to change the placeholder in the Search Field on the events page.
I don’t believe you can do that from a particular file or template. However, I think you could do it with some jQuery–for example, select the input and change the placeholder attribute so something else. There’s a possibility the PHP filter approach in this article will work as well, but it might not since I’m not sure it would work on a placeholder element. Still worth a try!
Cheers!

MemberHey there!
I see what you mean.
Just out of curiosity, is the venue template customized at all? Or perhaps any functions you’re using to customize the calendar? The strange thing that stands out to me is that the links for those events point to a Month View URL instead of a single event. That makes me wonder if something is getting in the way of how the page should behave under normal circumstances, which would be to not display those events.
Another approach might be caching. Do you have any caching plugins installed and, if so, does it help to empty the site’s cache and/or deactivated that caching plugin? It’s very odd that something deleted would continue to display, but cached site data would help explain things, even if it is a bit of a long shot.
Also, it would be great to know:
- When the issue popped up. Has this issue always existed or did it happen after an update or change to the site? If something changed, what was the change?
- Your system information. You can find this at Events > Settings > Help. Copy the info at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply so I can look for any red flags in the settings.
- If the issue happens in default conditions. I see you noted having tried switching to a default WordPress theme and deactivating all other plugins. What was the result of that? Did the issue still happen?
Let’s start here and see what we find.
Thanks!

MemberYeah! Glad that works. 🙂
There actually is not a helper in the tribe_get_state() function that would return the full state name. I tried to think of something that might do the trick but am coming up short–sorry about that!
