My guess is probably some sort of caching, although there’s not much we can do with this unfortunately

Unfortunately this falls outside the realm of support since to do this, you’ll need to use our templating and theming system. To add a slider, you’ll need to override the template for the main calendar. There’s information about our templating system on our Themeing guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/Unfortunately, we can’t help you add the slider though
