ParticipantTony,
The only other possibility is that it’s been edited in the actual plugin directory. Take a look there and see if that’s the case.Casey
ParticipantKen,
Can you send me a private reply and give me temporary access to your dashboard? I just want to verify that your settings are correct. Thanks!Casey
ParticipantKen,
That’s most likely the issue. You should change the permissions of your .htaccess file to 644, or create a blank .htaccess file in the root of your WordPress installation if one doesn’t already exist. Here’s a good article on changing permissions: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Let me know if that does the trick! Thanks!

ParticipantKen,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’re having this issue. Can you try to reset your permalinks to see if that helps to resolve the issue? Just go to ‘WordPress Settings->Permalinks’ and click ‘Save’ again.Let me know if that has any effect on the issue. Thanks!

ParticipantTony,
If you’re editing your events.php file, it should just be in the following directory: ‘YOUR_THEME_DIR/events/’. Only the Community template files should reside in ‘YOUR_THEME_DIR/events/community/’.Can you verify that events.php resides in the ‘events’ directory and event-form.php resides in the ‘community’ directory?
Casey
ParticipantAllan,
I think defaulting the values would probably be the cleanest solution. Please perform a template override and then place this script block right above the FORM tag in your event-form.php file: http://pastebin.com/QNAeZUJ5Let me know if that does the trick!

ParticipantThe register link is not generated by any of our plugins. That’s a standard WordPress link that’s used for registrations if you have them enabled. Hope that helps!

ParticipantAndreas,
Here you go:1) Create a new directory in your theme directory named ‘events’
2) Inside this new ‘events’ folder, create another folder named ‘community’
3) Copy the files from ‘/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views’ into the new ‘community’ folder you createdThe Community add-on will now use these files to override the default views, so you can customize them as you’d like.
Please let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

ParticipantSpectrom,
Can you clarify your question? Do you want to remove all of the Venue information options, or just the Country & State? Thanks!Casey
ParticipantTinyfrog,
Thanks for reaching out! You’ll need to enable user registration on your site (WordPress Settings->General & check ‘Anyone can register’), and then point users to http://yoursite.com/wp-login.php?action=register.Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

ParticipantAndreas,
Unfortunately that’s not currently supported in the plugin. You could add a ‘Change Password’ link that goes to your hidden wp-login.php page. You can do this by performing a template override of any of the Community template files that are located in ‘PLUGIN_DIRECTORY/views’.Let me know if you have further questions about how to do this. Thanks!

ParticipantAndreas,
Users should be able to reset their password by going to the /wp-login.php page on your site and clicking the ‘Reset Password’ link.Let me know if they’re not able to do this. Thanks!

ParticipantTony,
Thanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Unless you disagree, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.
