    Trumpeter,
I’m going to close this thread out since it seems to be a duplicate. I’ll respond on your other thread. Thanks!

    Lamagia,
I just heard back from one of our developers, and he confirmed that this will be fixed in the release of Community. If you can’t wait until then, then you can do the following:

    1) Perform a template override (Instructions)
    2) After performing the template override, edit ‘edit-event.php’ and add the following code to line 22 right after the FORM tag: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/597c6ee9a9e7e4d14bc2

Give that a try and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks!

    Dimitris,
Can you supply us with the Greek Language files for WordPress, so we can try to replicate this issue? I can’t seem to find where to download them. Thanks!

    Pookapro,
Thanks for reaching out! Hopefully I can answer some of your questions and at least get you started in the right direction.

    1) You can customize the Community Event Submission form by performing a template override (Instructions) Then you’d want to hook into the ‘wp_insert_post’ action and save all of your new custom form values when the Form is submitted.

    2) It depends. 🙂 If you don’t need the ‘Organizer’ functionality, then that’s fine. Otherwise I would suggest creating a new Custom Post Type for this, so that the Organizer functionality will remain.

    3) You’ll want to look at customizing/rewriting the ‘tribe_community_events_organizer_select_menu‘ method to do something like this.

    4) Again, you should be able to do this by performing a Template Override for the EC Pro template files.

Hopefully that helps you make a decision, but I would encourage you to look at our documentation further to make the best decision for yourself on the correct course of action.

Thanks and let me know if you have further questions!

    Cheers,
    Casey

Actually, I just realized that this is a separate list of questions, so I’ve reopened the thread. So sorry!

While Community Events is pretty flexible and the templates can be customized quite easily, it wasn’t really built with this level of complex customization in mind. So unless you feel comfortable completely customizing a plugin, then I would probably lean towards building something yourself.

As far as suggesting Gravity Forms for something like this, I’m not familiar enough with the plugin to know if that would the best approach or not.

We do have extensive documentation on all of our plugins, which should hopefully get you started in the right direction.

Hopefully that at least gives you a place to start. Good luck and let me know if you have further questions!

It looks like this is a duplicate thread, so I’ll go ahead and close this one out and continue the conversation on your other thread. Thanks!

    Alfemand,
The State/Province value should be located in the ‘tribe-events-calendar’ translation strings, so make sure you’ve correctly installed your po files for EC also.

The ‘Unnamed Organizer’ value is actually saved in your ‘Organizers’ taxonomy and is a value that you can edit yourself by going to ‘Dashboard->Events->Organizers’.

Give those two suggestions a try and let me know if that helps. Thanks!

    Lamagia,
I just wanted to reach back out and let you know that, due to the holidays, our developers are backed up with a lot of tickets and I’m still waiting to hear back on this issue. Thanks for being patient and I’ll let you know when I have more to report.

    Thanks!

    Irishrunner16,
Thanks for reaching out! You can hide fields on the Event Submission form by doing a template override. Here’s how to do this:

    1) Just create the following new directory structure in your theme directory: ‘/tribe-events/community’
    2) After doing that, go to ‘wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/’ and copy over all files to the new directory you created in Step 1.
    3) Find a file named ‘venue.php’ in the ‘Modules’ folder and find the code that looks like this: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/73a847ef26ed0cd3252f
    4) Comment out that code using HTML comments

That should be it! Give that a shot and let me know if it does the trick.

    Thanks!

    Alfemand,
Unfortunately if everything is working correctly with the default theme, then this is a conflict with how your Third Party theme is implemented. Due to the sheer number of third-party themes out there, we can’t provide support for all of them. However, we’d be happy to answer any questions that the developer of your theme might have to help them resolve the issue in their theme.

I hope you understand, and please let us know if we can answer any further questions. Thanks!
