ParticipantHowdy gian,
Feel free to delete the event I created. I do not want it messing up your site!
I think the problem you are describing regarding cost is the known bug I mentioned at the outset, regarding the cost filter with the Filterbar not working properly. This will be fixed in an upcoming version of our Filterbar plugin. 🙂
In Settings > General, what setting is “New User Default Role” set to?
Thank you for your patience Gian, and your helpful instructions on how to reproduce these problems. I hope we can get to the bottom of this. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy atracksler,
I am glad you got it figured out. It seems likely that the duplicate events was caused by a bug we had when a person upgraded from 3.4 to 3.5 on server with limited resources. Upgrading from 3.4 directly to 3.5.1 fixes the problem, but sadly that is only possible if you have a backup of your 3.4 database.
Regarding your other issue, it sounds like you were trying to navigate through the WP Admin > Events page but found it frustrating. If I was clicking Next page each time until the last one, I would be frustrated too! Luckily we have some extra tools to help ease this. There is the double arrow button >> that takes you to the very last page. Furthermore each of the table headings is sortable, so if wanted to reverse the default order you could simply click on the “Start Date” heading and it will then sort by start date in reverse order. Finally our Filters & Column bo at the top can help you limit the results down so that you are not looking at every event on your calendar. You can also have more events per page by click the Screen Options link in the upper right, and adjusting the settings there. Would one of those tools, or perhaps a combination of them, make it easier for you in the future?
Thanks!

ParticipantHowdy vetenskapochfolkbildning,
Thank you for your patience! I am very sorry about the delay. We are actually hiring some new folks to help out in the forums, and doing everything we can to ensure timely responses.
So that error message might be a bit misleading. What it is saying is that there are no upcoming events. By default out plugin only imports upcomign events for a given group. You can hook into the WP Filter ‘tribe_fb_import_since’ and change it. The default value is
date( 'Y-m-d' ), so if you were to say pass itstrtotime( '2000-01-01' )instead you would be importing all events since the year 2000.Does that make sense? Will that work for you? If you need some assistance with WP Filters please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy coeurmechante,
Thank you for reporting this. We have this issue logged in our tracker. Basically what it amounts to is that WordPress itself defines the constant “WP_CONTENT_URL” as being http, not https. This is a problem, but one that some third party plugins fix for WordPress. If you search for plugins that “force SSL”, one of them should force your WP install to load resources via HTTPs when requested from a secure connection.
In the mean time we might try and find al alternative method for getting the default URLs. It will not be quite as fast as the current method, but at least it will support HTTPs even though the WP ones do not.
Does that make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy fmas490,
I think this little bit of CSS will help you:
Just so you know though, this is your themes style is applying to too many elements, including some Tribe ones, and causing unexpected behavior. Unfortunately we can not really help you with integrating your theme, that is something either you or someone you have hired who knows CSS will have to do. As we outline in our scope of support on various areas on this site, the support includes assistance with bug fixes and guidance on how to perform modifications, but not the actual code. Now that said, on I can slip a snippet of CSS or two past my manager. 🙂 I think this will one will help you fix this specific problem:
.widget.tribe-events-adv-list-widget ol li { padding: 0; margin: 0 0 2em; }If you you have some future CSS changes you would like to make and do not know someone whom you can hire, have no fear. We actually keep a list of freelancers who are quite capable of making changes on your behalf. You can obtain this list by emailing [email protected] and requesting it.
Does that make sense? Do you have any questions about our scope of support r anything? Please let me know. Cheers!

April 15, 2014 at 9:05 am in reply to: Reoccuring events displaying more than once per occurance after 3.5.1 update #133207Brook
ParticipantHowdy guys,
Unfortunately I think you guys are experiencing a bug that results when you upgrade from 3.4 to 3.5 that happens on some servers. 🙁 This can be fixed by directly upgrading from 3.4 to 3.5.1. If you do have a database backup from before you upgraded to 3.5, the easiest solution might be to restore that backup, and then upgrade to 3.5.1 one directly. You might notice the server timeout a time or more when you first try and login to WP Admin after the update, but keep refreshing the page if it times out and eventually you will login. Basically what is happening is that we are running an update behind the scenes that makes recurring events faster and more powerful. However, on some servers with limited resources this update timesout, and in version 3.5 it created duplicate events. Hence why I recommend upgrading right to 3.5.1.
If you do not have a backup, then make sure you are on version 3.5.1. You will have to go through and manually delete all of the duplicate events. This might even be easier than the Database restore, depending on your setup.
<span style=”font-size: small;”>telluridelibrary, did the above steps help fix this for you? If not, would you mind opening a new topic and in your own words detailing the problem? Having one topic per customer helps us guarantee that we are addressing your problem specifically, and not missing any </span>subtleties<span style=”font-size: small;”> that might make your issue unique. It also helps us respond to you faster. Thanks!</span>
Let me know if that works for you kiddingaroundgreenville. Thanks!

April 15, 2014 at 8:55 am in reply to: Displaying all recurring dates on calender widget – not just the first #133191Brook
ParticipantHowdy cromerpier,
That is a real puzzling problem. I have not seen any one else with that issue before. I am testing it locally on my server, and all events in a recurring series are clickable in the Mini-calendar widget.
I would like to verify that I fully understand your problem. When I add the Mini Calendar widget, and navigate to a day that has a recurring event in it, I can click on it and open up the that event in my calendar. Is this what you are unable to do for recurring events (other than the first one)?
Could you try creating a new test recurring event for me, and seeing if it suffers from the same problem? I am curious to see if it might work properly.
If none of the above helps, I have one more idea. Could you try temporarily activating the default 2013 theme, and seeing if the issue persists?
If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?
If the issue persists in the default 2013 theme, then we have a different set of debugging steps. Please keep the 2013 theme enabled, and also disable any plugins other than the ones from Modern Tribe to see if that fixes it. If it does, please try reenabling the plugins one at a time until the issue resurfaces. When it does resurface, can you let me know which plugin caused that to happen?
Does that make sense? Did one of those possibilities help you fix this? Please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy yohanaton,
By default the event categories on the front end should be alphabetized. It looks to me like even yours are alphabetized. Of course if you add subcateogries, they will appear under their parent in alphabetical order. So if you had a cat “Z” with a parent of “A” it would look like this:
A
– Z
B
C…Does that make sense? Did I perhaps misunderstand you? Please let me know. Thanks!

April 15, 2014 at 8:18 am in reply to: How to use template shortcodes within General Settings – Display -Advanced Templ #133154Brook
ParticipantHowdy amandathepanda,
Thank your for your patience! That is a great question. So, our HTML before content area is for HTML only, not shortcodes.
However, if you have ever designed even a small WordPress filter before, it would be very easy to create one that will bent that content area to your needs. You would hook into ‘tribe_events_before_html’ and run the content through the WP function do_shortcode, then return it. I believe that will work swimmingly.
Does that make sense? It might sounds like greek if your unfamiliar with the WP API. 🙁 However if you know someone who is WP API savvy, they might be able to help too. Please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy jareddegnan,
I am sad to give you this news, but at least out of the box it looks like your theme is not fully compatible with Tribe Events. You should definitely try going to WP Admin > Events > Settings > Display, and trying out different Stylesheets, and perhaps templates as well. One of them might work.
However, I would not be surprised if they all show the spinner. Your theme is a bit “specifically broad” (how is that for a strange contradiction) with some of its CSS rules, to the point that it overrides Tribe CSS. If you are CSS savvy you can definitely create a child theme, and with a some minor CSS tweaks make the two compatible. If you are unable to do so and do not know someone whom you can hire, have no fear. We actually keep a list of freelancers who are quite capable of making changes on your behalf. ParticipantHowdy wolferman,
Good questions. I see you do lots of research before asking!
First of all, if you ever do want to change the text “Occurs monthly on the third Thursday” keep an eye out for the input field labeled “Recurrence Description” on the Add/Edit event screens. It will allow you to change that text on a per event basis.
If you want to completely hide the see all events link there are two ways, the easy/hacky way and the hard one. Easy way, use CSS. Hard way, hook into the PHP filter “tribe_events_recurrence_tooltip” and regex search/replace the output for
<a [^>]>(See All)</a>(might need some tweaking) then replacing that with nothing: ”.Does that all make sense? Did that help? Please let me know. Cheers!

April 14, 2014 at 11:01 pm in reply to: Photo View Stretching My Event (only when there is 1 event, 2 events + works) #132802Brook
ParticipantHowdy custommods,
Thank you for posting the resolution! While I am glad you were able to find one, I wish we were able to be of more help. Of course we only work on weekdays, so we were not able to respond quicker to your post.
As for why the sizes were shifting, our plugin is designed to handle templates and images of various widths. It is hard to say for sure without seeing the problem for myself, but it is likely that our allowing multiple sizes of images is what was causing unintended behavior for your fixed width site.
Please let us know if you need assistance with something else in the future!
