Me too! I have long been an advocate of basic things working without JS but many on the team felt it wasn’t worth the effort. Recently though we hired a strategist who sees like you and I. 🙂

You’re welcome. Let us know if you ever need anything else.

Thank you for the feedback Phil. That would certainly be simple, and we like to keep things simple if possible. I will pass that along to the folks who will ultimately be making the bundles.

Okay, thank you for giving that a go. I am going to do some more extensive testing here. I appreciate you sharing your system information, I will do  my best to reproduce your environment and see if I can get a similar result. I will report back tomorrow.

Right but it’s one event that’s Monday and Wednesday only. So create a reoccurrence for Monday for 2 days and Wednesday for 2 days? It’s essentially Monday 8-4 and Wednesday 8-4.

I was referring to this screenshot you shared. It says the event begins Monday the 12th at 8am and ends Wednesday the 14th at 5pm. Thus when viewed  in Month view and so forth that single event will show up on Tue because it’s between the start/end times. You would want it to end on Monday at 4pm to prevent this.

I can’t seem to delete that. How can I delete it?

To delete an exclusion click on the exclusions drop down and change it from Date/Daily/Whatever to “None”. Then hit save.

Did the above fix it? If not, what about creating a new event with only a recurrence, no exclusion, and make sure it starts/ends on the same day?

    Cheers!

Oh I just noticed one more thing, make sure the start/end times are on the same day as in my example. If you create an event that starts on the 12th and ends on the 14th, then the next occurrence of it (which starts on the 14th) will end on the 16th… Thus you will see multiple overlapping events.

Have you tried removing the exclusion. I’m embarrassed to say this, but those just don’t work right now and using them introduces glitches. They were accidentally released when they were not yet ready for prime time, and we’re working to fix them.

If removing the exclusion doesn’t fully fix things, mind trying to create a new event using the settings I posted above and no exclusions? It should work.

Thanks for your patience Josh. I am sorry you need to exercise regarding such a basic feature.

    Howdy Josh,

While I can not log in to your website (liability/legal stuff) here is a screenshot of the settings I described above.

If you choose those exact settings in the recurrence rules, you will not need an exclusion. It looks like the main difference is you chose a frequency of daily versus weekly.

Did that work for you? Cheers!

    Howdy Nicholas!

That should be possible. I am sorry this is giving you a hassle. We actually are going to remove that JS soon and just use proper permalinks as your currently are.

In the mean time you could simply rename the css class applied to that element. If you create a theme override for pthe-events-calendar/src/views/list/nav.php, and replace these two lines with a different CSS class of your choosing it should disable any JS that applies to those links:

    24:<li class="<?php echo esc_attr( tribe_left_navigation_classes() ); ?>">
    31:<li class="<?php echo esc_attr( tribe_right_navigation_classes() ); ?>">

You have probably read this already, but you can easily override that template by following our Themer’s Guide.

Does that all make sense? Will that work for you?

    Cheers!

    Howdy Nickolas,

I am sorry to see this is continually plaguing you. Out of curiosity, have you ever tried setting TRIBE_MODIFY_GLOBAL_TITLE to true? It was designed to handle issues like this. Perhaps it would inherently solve things without the need for a theme override?

If the above does not work then I could walk you through adding some logic for venues and organizers. Just let me know.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Phil,

I do not believe we have completely ironed out those details yet. One package I know will be available is a Community + Tickets package, which will coincide with our release of the new Community submitted tickets. Further I expect there will be a set of bundles contain Pro + other product of your choice.

Did you have a bundle you were hoping to see? We would love feedback!

Just so you know we typically try to keep each topic focused on one persons question. This ensures that every question and user gets our full attention. If you would like to discuss in detail this please feel free to open a new topic and we can continue the conversation there. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Howdy Karly,

It’s nice to meet you. I am happy you enjoy our plugins so much.

Version 4.0 will be a major release of the plugin which is why we are jumping to the number 4. In order to craft some requested features and improvements we do have to break backwards compatibility in some place. We are doing our utmost to introduce all upcoming breaking changes in the 4.x series at once, in 4.0. That way anything developed for 4.0 will be in a good spot for the foreseeable future.

We are simultaneously going to continue maintaining a 3.x version of our plugin for a little while, to give existing projects time to switch.

As a new project you might be interested in our upcoming beta of 4.x (sign up here). Further, if you are interested in an early preview of 4.x I can double check with my manager and see if I could get you one. At this point I believe 100% of the features have been developed, and we are passing this over to our QA team. It is almost guaranteed that there are still ample bugs and perhaps some usability issues in 4.x which we will work to iron out between now and November. But if you would be interested in a buggy but fairly feature complete version of 4.x to begin developing against, I would be glad to see if I could provide one.

Does that answer your questions? Cheers!

    Howdy Kevin,

    It’s nice to meet you.

That’s certainly not a dumb question. Our plugin, including Community Events, uses WordPress’ users. If a user is registered on your WordPress website, they are already registered for Community Events once you activate that plugin.

Is your ecommerce solution one of WordPress ones, such as WooCommerce? If so, then user accounts will be shared no problem. If it is not based on WordPress then users will probably not be shared with The Events Calendar. However, if you are planning to use Community you can set it up to allow anonymous submission, so that users do not need to register.

    Does that answer your question?

    Cheers!

    Howdy Jessica,

That’s a good question. What you are seeing there is a handlebars JS template. This has proven to be something that has confused many users, and apologize that it’s not yet as simple as editing the other templates.

It sounds like you are editing the template ‘/the-events-calendar/src/views/month/tooltip.php’. Any time you want to add information to this template you must first edit ‘/the-events-calendar/src/views/month/single-event.php‘. You will notice that the first 190 lines of the single-event file are a tutorial on how to edit it, including a very applicable example on how to add a post meta field. If you follow the steps outlined in this built-in tutorial you should be able to add your data the single-event.php file, and then show it on tooltip.php.

Does that all make sense? After giving that a whirl have you achieved success?

    Cheers!
