ParticipantWow! That sounds like a great solution, nkelkar. Thanks for sharing it with us! 🙂
Kelly
ParticipantThanks so much for taking the time to work through this with us, Kat. I’m sorry we weren’t aware of the limitation in the first place.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread now. Please feel free to open a new one if anything else comes up! 🙂
October 10, 2013 at 2:58 pm in reply to: how do I display the next upcoming event on a page? (TEC pro) #70435Kelly
ParticipantHi, ironandsteel. Would using a widget work for you?
If that’s the case, you can definitely use the list widget and limit the number of events on a widget to 1. There’s even a tutorial on how to add your featured images to it: https://theeventscalendar.com/adding-post-thumbnails-to-the-events-list-widget/
Hope that helps! 🙂

ParticipantHi, danieldekay. Thanks for getting in touch about your customization.
Unfortunately, this feature is not implemented in the plugin. It is certainly possible that you could craft something that would make it happen, but that outside of the scope that we can provide here.
Please feel free to reference our extensive technical documentation at docs.tri.be. Also, if you’d like to request this feature for a future release, we’d appreciate your feedback on our user voice page: https://tribe.uservoice.com
Thanks for being a TEC user!

ParticipantHi, Charlie. Thanks for asking about customizing your events pages.
This is totally doable provided you’re comfortable digging into the code of our templates. For detailed instructions on how to create template overrides, please check out our Themer’s Guide for The Events Calendar, linked at right. The Technical Documentation, also linked in the sidebar, may prove useful as well.
Beyond that, crafting specific customizations is, unfortunately, outside the scope of the support we can provide here. We are always happy to help keep you pointed in the right direction! 🙂
Have fun customizing your installation!

ParticipantHi, bodin. Thanks for asking about this tweak. Unfortunately, this feature is not built into the plugin. It’s likely that you would be able to create it using our Technical Documentation and Themer’s Guide linked at right. Let us know if you get stuck along the way and we’ll do our best to get you pointed in the right direction.
As far as your question goes, danieldekay, please check out our roles FAQ (https://theeventscalendar.com/faqs/what-plugin-capabilities-are-there-for-creating-custom-roles/). That should give you a run-down of what’s available.
Also, in the future, please start a new topic with requests, so that we can more easily ensure that your problem is resolved independently of any others.
Let us know how it goes! 🙂
October 10, 2013 at 2:19 pm in reply to: Limit qty of tickets sold per order OR Collect multiple attendee information #70417Kelly
ParticipantHello again, nkelkar. Thanks for the detailed descriptions. That’s very helpful for us. 🙂
Because WooCommerce Tickets is basically allowing integration between The Events Calendar and WooCommerce, we don’t have a lot of control over the shopping cart and checkout process. What you’ve done with configuring WooCommerce to prevent multiple sales is exactly what I’d recommend.
As far as adding a way for the customer to include more information at checkout, that’s a commonly requested feature, but unfortunately, not one that we have implemented yet. If you’d like to request it, we’d be most grateful if you would visit our User Voice page and suggest it there: https://tribe.uservoice.com
Other than that, people have reported using other plugins for collecting data, and if you search the forums, you’re likely to find some threads about it. That may be worth looking into.
Thanks for being part of our community!

ParticipantThat’s right, ironandsteel and nkelkar. What you’re seeing is how the plugin is designed to function.
Tickets are created as hidden by default. If you’d like to make them visible, you just go to the product’s Catalog visibility setting and change it from “Hidden” to whatever you’d like it to be.
Here’s a screenshot on the Product editing page in WooCommerce: http://d.pr/i/YrMh
Hope this helps!

ParticipantHi, joeldavis. It looks like you’re seeing an error that was hitting people in earlier versions of our plugin, but it shouldn’t be occurring now.
Would you please confirm that you’re running version 3.1 of both The Events Calendar and WooCommerce Tickets? 🙂 Thanks!
Kelly
ParticipantWell, that’s very interesting. So, are you saying that when The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO is activated, it’s not possible to add a new post from the Admin screens of your site?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, webquarry. I’ve responded to you in the other thread that you opened.
If you need help here beyond what I addressed in that thread, just let me know!
Kelly
ParticipantHi, webquarry. Thanks for asking about this customization.
As you know, there is no way, out of the box, to check with Eventbrite about the status of your event’s tickets. I would guess that to accomplish this you’d need a strong understanding of the Eventbrite API, and that’s, unfortunately, outside the scope of the support we can offer in our forum here. If you would like to pursue this with a freelancer, we’d be happy to share a list of folks that we trust to help you out. 🙂
Sorry I can’t resolve your issue for you. Good luck finding the answer! 🙂
Kelly
ParticipantDo they access that from the front or back end of the site. If on the front end, can you explain where exactly?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, digitangle. Thanks for all your sleuthing!
I don’t know of any limits myself, but it’s certainly possible. How long is the event description in question?
Also, just so you know, we have had situations in the past where people using HTML that displays fine in WP, but does not follow best practices (like closing all their tags) gets rejected by Eventbrite. Is it possible that you’re being affected by that behavior?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, kizzinkwocha. I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
Can you point me at which plugin is the one that you use to have users add articles? That would help in my troubleshooting.
Thanks!
