ParticipantHi, africaatlanta. Great question! That is definitely peculiar behavior.
First, I want to check about your troubleshooting steps and the results of them. Did you have a chance to try with a default WP theme like Twenty Twelve? If so, did that make a difference? When you tried with all other plugins disabled was there any change?
If you could post your System Information for the Events Calendar Settings Help tab, that would be helpful, too.
Thanks! π

ParticipantWow! Thanks so much snorton! π We really appreciate you helping jkash23686 out!
jkash23686, since it sounds like you’re set for now, I’m going to close this thread. Please feel free to start a new one if anything else comes up!

ParticipantWell done, infosws! π I’m so glad to know that it was a simple fix once we got to the bottom of it.
Thanks for bearing with us while we figured it out!
Kelly
ParticipantThat’s great news, sdep. The fix will be included in the next release, so at that time, you should remove the snippet from your functions.php. Good question!
Hi, Ashley. We’ve had 100% success for people’s sliders using the snippet posted on this thread. If you are saying that your slider is still broken after putting the coding in your theme’s functions.php, please start a new thread so that we can help you troubleshoot.
Thanks! π

ParticipantHi, twosunsrisingyoga. Our developer just took a look at your site but couldn’t find anything amiss.
Are you still experiencing this issue? If so would you please explain step-by-step how to reproduce it?
Thanks so much!

ParticipantHi, infosws. I truly apologize for the delay. Our dev that specializes in these issues just now got back to us.
It seems that there’s an issue with your theme that breaks a fundamental part of TEC. Here’s the dev’s comment:
The Events Calendar requires themes to use http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/body_class . If it doesn’t, one symptom will be the month view datepicker not being in month mode, as it decides to go to that mode depending on the grid body class we apply.
Do you think you might be able to pass this along to your theme developer to ask if they might be able to help?
Kelly
ParticipantMy pleasure, Kyle. Thanks for bringing it up!
Kelly
ParticipantHi, Kyle. Great question! π
We had been delaying updating the tutorial after TEC 3.0 launched in anticipation of the Genesis update. As you so rightly point out, that’s no longer holding us back. π I can’t make any promises on when it’ll happen, but I’ll definitely get it in the pipeline.
Thanks for bringing it up!

ParticipantHi, Danielle. Well done figuring out how to make that customization. Thanks for offering to share that with others.
I love your idea for a the feature request. We’d be most grateful if you’d like to suggest it on our User Voice forum: https://tribe.uservoice.com/
If you’d like to share your code here via a service like pastebin or github, maybe we could make a tutorial for others and credit you for your work.
Thanks! π

ParticipantHi, globalbodyweighttraining. This is a great question!
I just spent some time checking out your site, and everything seems to match for the events as far as I can tell. Is it possible that this was some sort of caching issue?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, sdep. Have you had a chance to check out the snippet that we’ve revised: https://gist.github.com/chriscct7/7535056
It’s worth giving it a go with 3.2 as the same thing will be in the next release. If it doesn’t work, please give us feedback ASAP so we can get to the bottom of it before code freeze. Otherwise you’re in for a long wait until it can be addressed in a subsequent release.
Thanks! π
November 19, 2013 at 9:00 am in reply to: Import, save, and display the entire Facebook cover photo #77415Kelly
ParticipantHi, joinfof. I’m sorry if my response surprised you. I’d like to address this in two parts.
First, customization is not part of the premium support service. If you haven’t already, it’s probably worthwhile for you to read over our Premium support page: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/
I’d like to specifically direct you to this part: “When it comes to customization, while we’re happy to help point users in the right direction towards accomplishing a desired customization, we wonβt build your site for you.”
Second, the issue with pulling a large photo from Facebook event page is not currently possible within the limitations of Facebook’s very restrictive API. (This is not just for us, but for any developer.) It’s unfortunate, but we can’t just do whatever we want with their data. They are very particular with what can and cannot be pulled down via the API. As far as we know, Facebook doesn’t allow you to import the cover photo at all. It can bring a featured image associated with an event, but all we’re able to do to get that image is specify that we want the largest size FB will allow (which is usually around 200×200).
It may be that an outside developer has a creative workaround, and that would be awesome. Unfortunately, it’s not something that we are aware of.
I hope that helps you understand our position. Best of luck finding a way to accomplish what you’re hoping for! π
