View as Map causes JavaScript error

When opening up the calendar in view as Map, I get the following error and I’m uncertain what to do to fix it.

Uncaught TypeError: Object function (){var e,t,n,i;if(null===this)throw new TypeError;for(n=Object(this),e=n.length;e–;)t=0|Math.random()*e,i=n[e],n[e]=n[t],n[t]=i;return n} has no method ‘setMap’

Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi oriongroup,

We don’t typically see this so I wonder if it is a conflict relating to your theme or another plugin. In the first instance can you try disabling all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve) and see if the problem persists in those circumstances?

If that resolves the issue, try reactivating everything one-at-a-time and checking at each stage to see if the problem has returned. This is a great way of isolating conflicts and zeroing in on possible causes.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this that way, but if not please also include your System Information – as made available via the Events > Help admin screen – in your next reply.

I was hoping it would be a common issue, but never seems to be. I’m going to go through the process a little later today and give you an update afterwards.

I found the culprit and I’m not surprised to find that it is Shareaholic (http://wordpress.org/plugins/shareaholic/). I think there are some plugins that can set plugins to not load on specific pages, so I’m going to try going down that route.
