MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread (and I believe this has been anyway solved in our very latest release). If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!

MemberWoops, missed your update!
So you’ve solved it already which is great. That being the case, I’ll close out this thread. Thanks again and good luck with the project 🙂
(…and, if you have a moment, we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar in general over on our plugin review page – thanks again!)
Barry
MemberOK – so you’re referencing $event_passed in their but haven’t actually defined it.
These templates in a sense stand alone – they don’t automatically inherit the symbol table of the parent template, so you’d need to add a line somewhere (probably near the top) setting $event_passed appropriately.
Does that help?
Barry
MemberExcellent, we’ll get that tutorial updated shortly – thanks for confirming!
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it sounds like you’re all sorted – but if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as required and one of the team will be only too happy to assist.
Also, if you have a moment, we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar over on our plugin review page – thanks again 🙂

MemberHi everyone!
First of all – apologies to capecodlife, Dante and jackfd53: we weren’t intentionally ignoring you, but due to the way our support tools currently work we are only advised of an update when the original poster (kellymarie2001) updates the thread.
Generally speaking it is anyway best to create threads of your own – that way we can troubleshoot things in relation to your own site as, even though the symptoms may be similar or even identical, the underlying cause may not be.
I’ve installed a test site and have been adding my plugins/theme one by one to see what’s causing the conflict. It’s a bit time consuming though because I have to leave it for a day just to see if I’ll get kicked off my admin!
OK – so it sounds like there is no problem when using just our plugins, is that correct?
That definitely adds weight to my previous note – so (capecodlife, Dante and jackfd53) please do run through our standard troubleshooting steps before you go any further and, ideally, create a new thread if you need further assistance.
I’m not clear though (kellymarie2001) why you need to leave things for a day to test … if you reactivate a plugin can you not test immediately to see if the problem has cropped up again and then, if not, move on to the next plugin?
Barry
MemberYes, it works as expected for me locally (albeit it is sometimes necessary to clear the browser cache, since the filter state – either open or closed – can otherwise persist regardless of that setting, however this is expected behaviour).
Barry
MemberExcellent, in that case I’ll go ahead and close out this thread – but if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads and one of the team will be only too happy to help 🙂

Barry
MemberThanks!
So a custom CSS rule that you could put in place (using a tribe-events/tribe-events.css file if you don’t have any other suitable means of adding it) is as follows:
.tribe-events-event-url a { color: red }This should resolve the problem, of course you can adjust the actual colour to suit your theme etc.
Does that help?

MemberHi! How are we getting on here – did that work for you?
Barry
MemberHi – thanks for highlighting this!
We’ll make a note to update the tutorial – in the meantime, change this bit of code:
$first_message['type'] == 'updated'To:
$first_message['type'] == 'update'Does that help?
Barry
MemberHi!
Normally it should not appear as white-on-white. To accurately give you some CSS to help here though I’d need to be able to see a specific example (otherwise I do not know what existing rules are impacting).
I’m currently unable to navigate to a single event page via the URL you provided, however, due to what looks like a members only restriction – so it’s difficult to assist.
Barry
MemberHi!
I’m not sure what might have changed to cause this – certainly I don’t see the same thing locally and nor have I seen other users complaining of this.
Would it be possible to run through our standard troubleshooting steps?
- Please ensure The Events Calendar and Filter Bar are up-to-date
- Deactivate all other plugins
- If you are using/were using caching plugins, please follow the author’s instructions on completely disabling these and merely deactivating them doesn’t guarantee that the effects of caching will stop immediately
- Switch to a fresh, unmodified copy of a default theme such as Twenty Thirteen
- Does the problem still occur?
Let’s say for the moment that solves the problem: the next step is to reactivate everything one-at-a-time, testing at each stage to see if and when the problem returns.
This is a great way of potentially isolating any conflicts … can you give that a go and let me know the results?
