MemberHi Matt, I have re-opened this per your email.
First things first, let’s eliminate the potential for interference by another plugin (or your theme) – can you ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date, deactivate any other plugins that might be running and switch to a default, unmodified copy of Twenty Eleven?
With that done, try creating a new directory within Twenty Eleven called Events – the path should look something like this:
wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/events
Now place a blank PHP file in there called ecp-page-template.php and simply add some plain text:
TestEnsuring first of all that Events > Settings > Template > Events Template is set to “Default Events Template”, if you now visit example.com/events what do you see? Hopefully just the text “Test” and nothing else 🙂 Can you run through those steps and let me know how you get on?
Barry
MemberOK – that seems to go to a 404, though I can see the links at the top of the page.
Can you visit Settings > Permalinks and save the page (don’t actually change anything) just to ensure that permalinks have been flushed. Can you also ensure that you have some upcoming events in the system, if only for testing purposes?
(I note if I visit http://clubtnt.eu/?post_type=tribe_events directly there seem to be no upcoming events.)

MemberGreat, in that case I will go ahead and close this topic 🙂
October 30, 2012 at 6:18 am in reply to: Setting up capabilities for Authors and Editors to edit events not working?? #27346Barry
MemberHi Rachel – I’m stumped too! To replicate your problem I did the following:
- Created a new user assigned to the “editor” role
- Signed in as that user
- Edited an existing event and saved the changes
I didn’t experience any problems whatsoever – is there anything I have done differently here from the approach you followed?
Barry
MemberHi Brian. I actually suspect the permalinks may be the problem here – can you try disabling your poly lang plugin (temporarily of course) and setting your permalinks to the %postname% pattern – this would just help to isolate the source of the problem.

MemberRight: I can certainly see a problem with the information contained in the definition list (“Event:”, “Begin:”, “Einde:” etc) on my BlackBerry, and my colleague Jonah confirms this on his iPhone.
The main title – above the “Deze activiteit is geweest” notice – looks fine to both of us however.
I think what’s going to have to happen here is some experimentation with CSS and your stylesheets, for instance Jonah tells me that #tribe-events-event-meta.column has a width of just 30% when viewed on his iPhone device, so some media query magic may be required here to rectify this.
Unfortunately I can’t really help a great deal more as I don’t have easy access to the same range of mobile/handheld devices that you are using, but it certainly sounds as though what you need to do is tweak the stylesheet(s) a little.
October 29, 2012 at 9:00 am in reply to: get_tribe_events() – start_date and end_date not working #27314Barry
MemberHi Cheryl, that’s not a problem I can replicate.
- I set up a recurring event running weekly from Oct 1 to Nov 30
- I created a query using tribe_get_events() with the date range Nov 1 to Nov 18
- Any of the recurring events within that timespan were returned as expected
So I’m not sure why you aren’t experiencing that, things to check:
- That all of the events are still in the same recurring pattern (if you have edited any single instances then it’s possible the chain of events may have been split apart)
- If you are using a taxonomy query then double check that those events are assigned to the relevant category
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Reggie – something like this works for me http://pastebin.com/yVzuWhP1 … what I’d highlight is that tribe_get_custom_field() only accepts two parameters (not three) and the post ID is optional.
Does that help here?
Barry
MemberHmm, when you say the event listing is part of a series, do you mean you have set it up as a recurring event? If so it sounds suspiciously close to a known issue (as summarized here by Rob).
Does that sound like the same problem you are facing?
Barry
MemberNo problem, glad you got it sorted 🙂

MemberOK – so what I see is this: http://d.pr/i/Tjgo and though there is some word wrapping going on it’s fairly easy to read the event title of “Herfst Expositie Galerie Heijnendecor Nederweert–Eind”.
What device/browser are you using to view the page?

MemberHi Harold, thanks for contacting us.
It looks like single events are currently working (if I visit http://www.nederweert24.nl/event/herfst-expositie-galerie-heijnendecor-nederweert-eind/ for instance everything seems fine) – am I correct in thinking that Mobile Theme from Jetpack is currently deactivated then?

MemberHi again Mike.
So unfortunately this is a known bug which we hope to resolve in an upcoming release – if I could direct you to this thread it might be that Jonah’s patch is useful in the interim (I appreciate you’ve already got your own fix in place though).
If you’ve got any other questions not covered by Jonah in the other thread then please don’t hesitate to let me know.

MemberSure thing Mike – I’ll look into this and report back 🙂
Barry
MemberHi Alexis, could you provide a little more context to this problem – what steps would I need to follow to see this for instance?
