MemberHi Tiana, a complication would exist where multiple events assigned to different categories take place on the same date, so you’d need to decide upon a logic to resolve that situation first of all.
I think the basic approach I would take here though would be to assign a CSS class based on the category name to the relevant table cell.

MemberHi Bonnie, those elements are generated by your theme (or else another plugin) rather than by our templates. In any case – some rules along these lines ought to work:
table#layout div.older a { color: #0F0; }
table#layout div.newer a { color: #0F0; }Barry
MemberHi Patrick, do either of these articles from our documentation help here?
Barry
MemberHi Tiana – where do you want this to happen? You should see thumbnails in the month view (gridview) within the tooltips without having to customize anything, so long as you have assigned post thumbnails to the relevant event(s) of course.

MemberInteresting. Out of curiosity, if you add an additional submenu item below Testing Dates – but make it a link to a regular page or post, then select that item, does the same problem occur? Or is it unique to event categories?
We use a custom child theme based on TwentyTen.
So far as you are aware, does the child implement its own menu walker – or do you have any plugins that work magic on your menus?
Our standard troubleshooting steps – ensuring your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date, deactivating all others and reverting to a default, unmodified theme (Twenty Ten itself or Twenty Eleven perhaps) could also be a good test to run here.
Be interesting to hear how you get on here – hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

MemberEvenbrite Tickets is no longer in beta. It may be that there is text to that effect on the demo site however, if so, that is inaccurate (probably a blog post written pre-2012). There is also a technical issue relating to the last remaining Eventbrite ticket on the demo site.
I have followed all the steps that you have outlined in the video but I am unable to find certain options which are there in the video, which are https://theeventscalendar.com/wp-content/themes/moderntribe/images/eventbrite-screenshot-2.jpg
Can you confirm that the Eventbrite Tickets plugin has been activated? If you have definitely activated it, can you tell me if when you edit an event you can see an option in The Events Calendar meta box marked:
Register this event with eventbrite.com?
If not, it’s possible that your plugins are out-of-synch. What versions of The Events Calendar and Eventbrite have you installed (and do you have any other Modern Tribe plugins installed)?

Barry
MemberHi EMRL – did you sort everything out here/have any further questions?
Barry
MemberHi Dave, how are you getting on here?

MemberHi Steve, thanks for buying Events Calendar PRO – we’d be happy to help ๐
many of our events have end times that are not relevant. Is it possible not to have this as a mandatory field?
When you create events you could simply let the system set the end date automatically; on the front end you can make use of template overrides to hide the end date from visitors.
In Event List mode, I have an ugly white background behind the dates/time info (http://69.195.124.65/~thelocd9/MEL/events/upcoming/). How do I fix this?
I’m unsure as I can’t identify the problem you are referring to; I can’t actually see any events when I visit your site – can you provide a direct link to a URL where this problem is apparent?
is it possible to somehow modify recurring dates to account for occasional holidays that would prevent one event to not happen?
Recurring events are being overhauled for version 3.0 of our plugins, however currently you would need to set up separate chains of recurring events to achieve this as exceptions and irregular patterns are not supported “out of the box”.
is it possible to include the DAY of event in addition to the date?
Definitely, again you would need to implement a template override to make this change safely – however I believe that all of the template tags responsible for printing out event dates can accept an optional parameter letting you express the date format in exactly the same fashion as used with PHP’s date() function.
I am using a WP theme but canโt get it to work behind just my Event page (itโs just black)? In your template setting, I have the option of Default Events Template which does give me themed background but the Event Diary fills the whole screen though, rather than contained in the post window like everything else. Any ideas?
I’m struggling to find an example of a regular post on this website – can you provide a URL so I can compare?
Generally speaking though you would need to select another template from Events > Settings > Template or else customize ecp-page-template.php and ecp-single-template.php using template overrides to achieve full integration with your theme, especially if the theme you are using deviates significantly from the norm.
One final thought is that it would be better to split so many separate topics into separate threads – it quickly becomes very confusing indeed when several different problems are discussed in a single thread ๐
November 20, 2012 at 9:43 pm in reply to: WPML + Events Calendar Pro Recurring Events Compatibility #28312Barry
MemberHmm, that’s strange. There have certainly been a few compatibility issues with WPML due to the way it modifies URLs (so far as I understand things, I’ve personally had very limited experience of WPML).
On occasion, the conflict has actually been compounded by other plugins, so, can you try a variation of our standard troubleshooting steps:
- Switch back to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven
- Ensure your Modern Tribe plugins are all up to date (currently we are on version 2.0.10 for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO)
- Turn off all other plugins, except for those by Modern Tribe and WPML
- Test and see if this problem persists. If it does not, reactivate everything else one-by-one until the problem returns – and note the last plugin you activated before the problem returned
This may help to isolate any potential conflict here. It may also be worth raising a concurrent support query over at wpml.org and asking for any input they might be able to provide.
