MemberThanks!
OK, so the problem was simply that the excerpt was being displayed/used and I had not set it up to display ticket prices on the list in those circumstances.
I’ve remedied it though so the ticket price is shown when the excerpt or the full content is displayed by changing list.php to this code instead.

Member… And one other point, just to continue the bombardment of messages (!), if I visit this event http://cvprofessor.com/workshop/third-twenty-twelve-event/ I am not seeing the ticket form. Are the tickets definitely on sale?
Barry
MemberOK, so if you want to share access details (to your test/dev site) as a private message I can take a quick look at this.
Barry
MemberSorry, my mistake. I was assuming for a moment you were using the modified version of list.php you had created previously but of course you stated you were now using the version I originally suggested so the above instructions aren’t going to be relevant.
Barry
MemberYes, you should definitely be working with template overrides (ie, in your theme directory) for this. In any case, in (your modified) list.php template try replacing this section with this version.

MemberHi outsidethelens – if you log in and navigate to Events > Settings > Template can you tell me what Events Template is set to?
Barry
MemberExcellent, and thanks for posting back with the answer – definitely could be useful for others experiencing the same issue.

MemberHi Jeffrey, there may not be too much we can do here to help as you are discussing a fairly bespoke piece of work. Here is a resource that can guide you through adding post categories and tags to events – of course in your case you may only want tags:
https://theeventscalendar.com/integrating-wordpress-categories-tags-with-your-events/
Or alternatively you might want ‘event tags’ that exist independently of post tags, in which case you could take a look at the following from the WordPress codex:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_taxonomy
(Tags are basically non-hierarchical taxonomies.) Beyond that were there any other areas where you needed us to point you in the right direction?
Barry
MemberOK, since I can’t see the setup what I’d suggest is some ‘manual’ debugging to try and figure out what’s going on. Try editing your modified list template as per the instructions in this snippet.
What do you see on the list view/can you let me know when you’ve made that change?
Barry
MemberGlad to hear it 😀
Barry
MemberYes indeed. I’m guessing from your previous activity on the forum you are comfortable with (and probably have already set up) a custom event-form.php template but just let me know if you need help with that.
What we’re going to do is look for this line of code and replace it with this code instead.
Note that one side effect of this approach is that only one category can be selected by the person submitting the event (whereas checkboxes allow them to select multiple categories), however that may be a positive thing depending on your requirements.

MemberNo problem – happy to help.
Barry
MemberExcellent – I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it sounds like this is all resolved.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberGreat, I’ll go ahead and close this thread but feel free to create new ones as required.

MemberHi Titus,
Have you checked out our Widget Modification tutorials (see our full list of tutorials here)?
They don’t cover this specifically but there is some good guidance on working with and customizing widgets generally, and an example of adding a featured image to the next event widget.
