MemberI’m actually rather surprised that it takes CSS tweaking to color code categories in this plugin. For a premium plugin, I was expecting better implementation of this very basic concept. I have users of the calendar that would have no idea what to do to make these color tweaks happen. I know there’s free calendars that offer this, but don’t seem to have the solid foundation that ECP has.
Any chance of this being on the roadmap?

MemberHey Josh. Thanks for the feedback. When the plugin was first released, it was geared more towards developers. Since 2.0 launched it’s become apparent that the market is broader than that and we’re shifting away from the “mean and lean” approach a bit as a result. The templating structure and the overall customization flexibility will definitely be improved during the 2.1 lifecycle.

ParticipantHow about a way to duplicate events, or creating new events based of saved events (like venues and organizers)?

MemberAnother vote for duplicate events…had a few requests for that one so far, and it sounds worthwhile from my perspective. Thanks Ken. Keep the suggestions coming.

ParticipantThanks Rob,
Also as I mentioned on the discussion board a way to display the duration of an event automatically. Right now I have a drop down using a custom field that will display the duration but if there where a way to calculate the time difference from start to end and display it that could be useful for some I would think.

MemberThere is definitely value there, as far as I’m concerned. Maybe having that as a setting people can enable or disable as they see fit. No promises but your vote for it herein means it’ll be a point of discussion as we jump into future builds. Thanks again.

Participantshortcodes, shortcodes, then maybe you could add some shortcodes.
Seriously though one of the things that is really needed is to add html before and after the events.
You have “Add HTML before calendar” and “Add HTML after calendar” in the settings but for formatting purposes it would be more helpful to have something to display before or in my case after the event in the agenda view.
Also an option to disable the calendar or agenda view would be helpful.

MemberThanks for the shortcode suggestion, Jeff. I assume by now you saw my somewhat-explanation as to why in the other thread 🙂
Good suggestions on the other fronts, though. If we can offer up a solution for the third I’m also going to add that to the FAQ.

ParticipantMy wish for a next update would be the ability to set events without an end time. That would be great 😉

MemberAnother vote for end time-less events! Thanks Stefan. This one is becoming a trend…

MemberIs it possible to have a event post to a Twitter automaticly?
February 16, 2012 at 1:04 pm #15293Rob
MemberHey Terry. Thanks for the vote; believe I addressed this particular question in the other thread you posted on this topic so if you’ve got any follow-ups, feel free to post them over there.

MemberI’ve noticed that the date in Quick Edit view is not the event date but the date the event was initially created. That would be very helpful to incorporate into the next release so you don’t have to fully open the Edit screen to change an event time or day. (Plus it’s not very intuitive)

MemberI would love to see the main calendar view have a way to filter events via categories. Also, the widget calendar should have a way to move forward in months. Any hope for these features getting implemented?

MemberHi Rob,
I throw in another vote concerning the “events by organizer” view ! I’m about to get into some custom code for this feature, but hopefully 2.1 is coming soon ?
Thanks
