    Hi Shelby

I’m using a plug in, but i would expect you’ve had this or similar issues before, and could give some suggestions on a work around? My cache system is calle autoptimize and should be one of the most popular cache plug ins for WP.

That said, i am getting pretty frustrated with the events calendar. it has been a pretty pricy plug in for me (to get the pro version, + agragator/import features, but have spend even more money on developers trying to get my site to and the plug in to work propperly.

To mention a few things i am still having issues with, there are double entries from facebook imports, timezone resets to CEST whenever users update their submited events, no images on google calendar imports

Although i was hoping that this feature would make users want to register and promote the site, it has cause way more frustration to me and even the users who want to submit their events.

I’m planning on closing down the calendar feature and simply dropping the idea of it, even though i’ve spent all this time and money on it, simply because i don’t expect it to ever work propperly (or be able to trust it)

    Hi Shelby
I haven’t deactivated the cache yet, because i was hoping that you had some solution for this that didn’t require me to turn off cache for any pages.
Currently i have the widget on the front page, and of course all instances of the events calendar listing of events on the site.

If the plug in requires to turn off cache for the pages i have the widget on, i wouldn’t be able to put it in the global sidebar of the site. This is, in my opinion, not idea.

You can check the url at http://www.allvirtualracing.com
I cleared cache a day ago

Have you had a chance to check this out?
Also, i am trying to edit a recuring event submited by this user (change the timezone) and although the timezone does change in the backend, it does not seem to change it in the front end. Does the event calendar have some sort of cache that needs to be flushed?

    Thanks for the link!
The short quotes look great, and would be very handy in the future, but i still would love to have a shortcode atribute like
    tags=”.”
    author=”.”
    Venue=”.”

Is this something you would consider adding to the plug in?

    Hi Hunter
I only thought your reply was canned, because you went into great extend, to describe a solution to a problem i did not ask.
I already have a side column, i don’t need to learn how to add one. My issue is whith the form for the “add event” page that needs to have width 100% so that it fills up the page, and alligns with the side bar.

Regarding the log in form, as mentioned in the original message, it is fine! Only when users visit https://www.rookieraceline.com/events/community/add/ they are promted with a log in that is missing the css instructions.

I don’t know any css and even if i used the inspector, i would have no idea what i was looking at, what to do with it, and where to change what.

I’ll leave it as it is, and save up for a developer to solve this one

    Hi Hunter,
Thanks for your canned answer, that even though it was very informative, seems to miss my question.
The page already has a sidebar, so i don’t need help to insert one. The problem i describe in my question (and display in the attached screen shot) is with the actual content of the Add event page, that does not seem to fill out the entire width of the page, but seems to be locked to a certain width (and left aligned).

Also there is no info about the missing styling sheet for the log in promt that i also asked about.

I understand that I can’t expect any help about these issues though?

    Hi Geoff
    Thanks for this
I have gone ahead an downgraded both plug ins
It even solved the issue with the missing images, so i am very happy now.
Might as well just stick with these as everything seems to work right now

    Alright
I’ll wait a few days and see if the new version will be available then. If not i’ll go ahead and downgrade
    Thanks

    Hi Geoff,
This didn’t work, and i gave up on it, but the event calendar has a large value to the site, so i need this to work propperly, and most importantly consistently.
I did a little search on your forum, and it seems that it is not only me.
I’ve added a comment on this thread to get notified on any updates. I really hope you fix this (and eventlually also the image imports)
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/aggregator-not-importing-images-from-facebook/#dl_post-1234340

Regarding image imports, i can see the images being imported in my media gallery, but they don’t get attached to events, and sometimes there are not even events for the images to get attached to.

I am not 100% sure, but i think i have the same issues.

The image import, is not consistent. I see the images being imported to my media gallery, but they don’t get attached to the event. But let’s leave that out, as you seem to be working on that already

Some of my scheduled facebook imports don’t get imported. I have set it so that any changes in the original source overwrite my calendar, and original import seems to work. But new scheduled imports don’t seem to be reliable.. Sometimes they’ll work and some events get ignored. I posted this a month ago and after some discussion i guessed there was a problem with my site..
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/widget-image-size/#dl_post-1222005
But now, after reading this, it sounds like i’m having the same issues.

if it has any relevance, i used to have the original facebook import, and changed over to event agregator.
Do you have any estimate on when this will work?

    Hi Geoff
    Thanks for the reply.
There are plenty of similar cases to check, so no worries.
For example on March 11 and 12, it seems like it has not synchronized properly.
On the word press site it has two repeat events, where on Facebook, these are two different event
    the facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/RevolutionOnlineRacing/events/

Strange thing is, that the images for the missing events have been imported to my media folder, but the events i can’t find on the calendar

    Hi Geoff,
Thanks for this, i’ll go through it with a dev because i might break it if i start messing with this.
    One last thing.
I noticed that one of the facebook pages i import events from, has created a new event, that does not show on my website.
I have forced the event calendar to do an import, and cleared all cache, but it still does not display the new event.
    Why is this happening?

I’ve attached a few images to show what is wrong
