Just wanted to also confirm the reversion from 3.0.2 to 3.0.1 restored events data for me too
HamishParticipantAnd sorry just as a clarification – I have installed all of the same plugins on the test site as are on the live site and cannot replicate the error on the test site.
HamishParticipantThanks for the speedy reply Barry. I’ve identified that on the live site there is a conflict with Wishlist Member. Strangely, I cannot replicate the error with the test site even though Wishlist Member is installed. I’m wondering if the volume of data I have in the events calendar and/or the volume in the wishlist member plugin could be the issue? It would be preferable to export a backup of my calendar’s data and do a quick/clean reinstall of events calendar to see if I can rule out the events calendar as being the issue.
HamishParticipantHi Barry,
To try and replicate the error, I setup a test website that contained all the same plugins as well as the same theme that are on my live site. Interestingly, the error does not appear on the test site. The calendar plugin as well as the pro version all appear to be playing nice. Do you know if/how it would be possible to export all of the events currently on my live site so that I could test to see if it was anything in the events themselves, or so that I might be able to try a brand new installation of the events calendar without losing my data? Incidentally, the ‘working’ version of the events calendar on my live site throws off the formatting of the events dashboard so that many of the columns become super narrow. Thanks.HamishParticipantJust to clarify:
-Events Calendar plugin works fine on its own; all of the above errors disappeared when I disabled the pro plugin.
-Reactivating the plugin results in the same errors as noted above.
-I also noticed that the layout of the events listings on the backend was all compressedHamishParticipantMy bad – I figured it out. The wordpress installed plugin page had a link up at the top called “update available” which then had the link to update TEC pro. Cheers.
HamishParticipantHi,
I just tried updating TEC plugin to version 2.10, which worked fine, but when i tried updating TEC pro plugin, the ‘upgrade plugin’ option disappeared and instead I got the same error message: The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 2.0.9. Please update now. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version. Can you please let me know how I can get my TEC Pro to upgrade as well (my license is still active). Thanks.HamishParticipantHi Johah,
I thought about your comment some more and went looking into the the template files. I found in the ecp-single-template.php file the code that is putting the container div. (http://pastebin.com/ZbhmMDTX)
I modified the ecp-single-template.php code by removing the container div tag and changing class from “tribe-events-event widecolumn” to “threeFourths clearfix” as you can see here: http://pastebin.com/iuLwmaEt
It seems to have worked, however I am wondering if this will create an unstable code/plugin. Do I have to copy this to my theme’s event folder?
Thanks
HamishParticipantI tried pasting that code into the event.css file in my theme folder and it did not work. I am not sure where am I supposed to paste the above mentioned code, can you please advise.
HamishParticipantHi Jonah,
Here is a link to the “calendar” view – which looks as it always did: http://bit.ly/GFki4A
And here is a link to an event listed on the calendar:
http://bit.ly/GHbf6SPreviously, the sidebar widgets appeared beside the event listing whereas now they are pushed underneath it. If I alter the template that is used for the TEC (e.g. the default EC) then the calendar gets compressed which throws off the formatting and strangely duplicates an event listing. Any help is appreciated.
HamishParticipantLooks like the HTML was stripped out. Here it is again (no angle brackets):
div id=”container”
div id=”content” class=”tribe-events-event widecolumn”HamishParticipantHi Rob,
When prior to this patch, I recall (and unless I’m mistaken about this) that the event details page allowed for my sidebar to exist along side the event description. Now, however, the width of the event details section has displaced my sidebar images and widgets to the bottom of the page. I copied the following HTML:
and unfortunately I don’t have the pre-update code, but I definitely do not remember my events details page looking they way they do now with the sidebar bumped to the bottom.
HamishParticipantHi,
I’ve applied the update and the patch of code referenced above, and I am still experiencing crawl errors.
Additionally, the events that are now posted are wider than the ones prior to the patch. This is a problem because the events listing displaced my sidebar to the bottom of the page. Can you advise on a fix for this?
HamishParticipantHi Guys,
Ok, so I’m trying to put the pieces together on this issue.
First there was an issue with the events calendar that created a lot of “pages not found” errors with google – in my case almost 14K.
Then there was an upgrade to TEC sometime around the 27th of Feb and problems with errors were supposed to tackled by upgrading. I am still getting page errors from the events calendar even though I have updated.
Also, I have a spike in soft 404 errors from the events calendar. I’m kind of at a loss as to how to properly deal with this issue. The Soft 404 errors are, on my reading of Google webmaster tools help page, very very bad.
Can you please advise?
Thanks.
HamishParticipantI have encountered this issue too – got over 10K errors
