MemberHi Jahnu. Thanks for the follow-up here; I’m not sure Barry’s seen your reply since he is at limited capacity this week, but I’ve passed the thread back his way and this will be his main priority when he jumps back into the forums shortly here (within the next 24 hours). Really appreciate your patience so far.

MemberHi there radiatemedia. Thank you for posting this, and my apologies that getting you a reply stretched beyond our traditional 24 hour window. We failed you on that end.
Have you ultimately decided to go with another plugin? I notice the link yo provided there redirects to a different page, and I’m not seeing the calendar installed. Please let me know if you do need further assistance here and we’ll get you a reply in as timely a fashion as possible. Thanks again for your patience so far.

MemberHey there theammogroup. I’m really sorry that we missed this when you posted it; we generally try to hit all threads within 24 hours of their being posted and we failed you on that end.
What you request here is interesting: basically adding another degree of filtering so beyond just ordering by the time an event takes place (as it does now), you’d filter first by venue (alphabetically I’m assuming) and then by event date within that venue? Your best bet on this end would probably be to create a custom list view to accomplish that; admittedly the built-in functionality doesn’t support it out of the box. While you can see all events at a given venue in list format, something that merges them all together is going to require going under the hood a bit. The best I can do on that end is point you to our docs (http://docs.tri.be/) and the themer’s guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/).
Hope that helps and sorry that I couldn’t offer more. Thanks again for your patience; don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything else.

MemberHi AntoniaHayes. Thank you for this follow-up, and I’m sorry we missed seeing it come through. This is top of Kelly’s radar to follow-up on either later tonight or first thing tomorrow, and we’ll rope the devs in as needed to get you sorted from there.
Thank you for your patience and my apologies once more that we failed you here.

Member🙂 All is well that ends well, as they say! So are you all set here Patti? I’m assuming this can be closed but please let me know if you disagree in a fresh thread. Cheers.
September 26, 2013 at 4:14 pm in reply to: Remove the Previous and Next Event links from my single event view. #67897Rob
MemberHi there kardiadesignstudio! Let me start by apologizing for failing to get you a reply in a timely fashion here. We work to address all threads within 24 hours of being posted, and this week we’ve been light staffed in such a way that the ball got dropped – we failed you.
Luckily I do have a solution, as seen in another thread I just found here on the forums, that should get you where you need to be. Check it out: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/remove-previous-next-events/#post-64712. Let me know if this isn’t in line with how you perceive the problem, though, and I’ll get you a response in as timely a fashion as possible.
Thanks again for your patience thus far.

MemberHi there jgiovanazzi. Thanks for the follow-up here, and let me apologize on behalf of the team if we miscommunicated to you the features included with this plugin. Julie is correct in her assertion that what you’re requesting, while certainly doable, is outside the scope of support because it’s not really how the plugin is designed to behave. We’re happy to point users to where they can make such a change and what they should look for with issues such as this, but that’s about as deep as we’re able to go. While we’d love to be able to help everyone out with every customization they’d like to do – and in an ideal world where resources and time abounded, we would – the unfortunate reality here is that there is a limitation to how much support we can provide for a $20 plugin.
That said: I would be really interested in hearing where you got the impression that this was a built-in/supported feature; by misleading you on that end, we’ve failed you as a team. If you can point me to where I’d find any incorrect or poorly worded messaging, I can make a point of getting that changed so nobody else winds up in your situation down the road.
Regarding your point: “Now it seems like I have to pay you guys for customization in order to get the feature I want?” No, this is not the case at all. We actually do not provide customization work ourselves because we both have limited bandwidth and because that’s not a very ethical approach to take. We do have a list of freelancers and dev shops who we can vouch for, though, and would be happy to share those names with you if you’re interested.
Lastly, please know that we’d be happy to give you a refund here so you’re able to find a solution that better meets your needs. Please let us know by emailing pro (@) tri.be if you’d like to take that route.
Thanks again for the follow-up and my apologies once more for letting you down. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thoughts, complaints or comments.

MemberDid you see my last note, gregoiregarneau? Need anything else from us or did you figure this out already?

MemberAh Tara, I think I understand what’s going on here…my apologies for taking a few days to get you a reply. The issue here is that it looks like you’re still using the “old” naming convention for the CSS file….starting with 3.0 the file is actually called “tribe-events.css.”
We updated the themer’s guide with a Customizing Styles section, specific to 3.0, which should get you exactly what you need to proceed here. See this section: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/#customizingstyles , and let me know if that gets you sorted!

MemberHi there materdknights. Thanks for posting that; I definitely can see your point here and honestly we really should be following the same behavior WordPress uses. Since this looks like a relatively minor lift I’ve got it logged in our ticket as something to check out for one of our next two maintenance builds (after the one coming this week). No guarantees since there may be logistical challenges to incorporating it, but I’m optimistic.
Thanks again for the feedback and ideas. Sorry for putting you in a tough spot in the interim.

MemberExcellent to hear that got you where you needed to be! Thanks for confirming, Gerald. Going to close this one out for now…but if we can do anything else to help you out down the road, just let us know. We really appreciate your support so far 🙂
Rob
MemberSorry if we let you down, kkwadrat! I’d definitely be interested in hearing more from you as to why you’d think – either via being misled by our own documentation, or something else – we’d be able to provide a more specific solution here? If there’s something out there suggesting this is a built-in function, I’d love to hear it.
Otherwise, as Julie noted, this is unfortunately not something our plugin has control over. The maps are generated using the Google Maps API, which we’re just calling on from our plugin…but once we’ve passed the address data to them, everything else is handled on Google’s side.
Sorry we couldn’t offer more here. This may well change with updates to the API and corresponding changes to our plugin down the road, but at the moment it’s sadly not possible without cracking the hood and hacking at the core files (which we don’t recommend). Please let us know if you need anything else!
