    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for sharing your input. I think its a fundamental flaw in the PRO version which needs to be addressed in the future. Based on my experience (two years using the event calendar pro), dozens of events organizers host recurring events which do not have the same length in days every time. After all, why does a same event should have the same length every time? This is basically like saying all movies by Universals should be 90 minutes long (not more, not less).
Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing the link to the feature request ๐Ÿ™‚ I added my input to the group.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Caroline,

I’ll post this on the WP forum of the event calendar, since this “issue” affects also the free version of the plugin.

    Thanks!

    Hi Caroline,

Of course, this makes sense and looks totally obvious now you explained it ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks a lot for taking the time to stop by and help me address this issue.

I’ve already created a dozen events that were missing, thanks to your help.

    Once again, thanks a lot!

    Hi Geoff,

It worked like a charm! Thanks a lot!
Well, that good ol’ @media CSS rules is definitely something I’ll keep in my mind!

Once again, thanks for your (greatly appreciated) assistance. You guys rock.

    Cheers,
    Nicolas

Hi Geoff, that’s fantastic news! Thanks for sharing your input. When I get to implement Polylang Pro with the event calendar, I’ll be more than happy to share my experience.

    Best regards,

    Hi Barry,

Thanks for getting back to me! I’m using the Listable theme ( https://themeforest.net/item/listable-a-friendly-directory-wordpress-theme/13398377 ) and a few plugins too. However, this problem appeared two updates ago of The Event Calendar plugins (free & pro). So this is probably not linked to the theme or the other plugins I used, since the monthly view used to appear properly on smartphones before.

I understand solving this problem is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. So for now I’d be more than happy with some CSS that shows a default list view for mobile users, instead of the monthly view shown to desktop users. Could you provide me with that? That’d be really a life changer for the people using my calendar feature.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shelby,

Thanks for getting back to me! Even though I purchased a PRO version of
the Event Calendar, it is now expired. Therefore I can’t access the
forum. Since the calendar feature is also a part of the free version,
this is something that should be addressed by the tech team, right?

Thanks again for your help and guidance!

    Hi Shelby,

Thanks for your message! Actually my premium licence is expired, and I’m now only offered the possibility to contact presales.

Could you pass my inquiry to someone else or give me an email?

Okay, I just downgraded TheEventCalendar 4.3.5 to its Version 4.3.4.2, and the problem disappeared. Pro version seems not to cause any particular issue since the last update. But TheEventCalendar 4.3.5 broke my CSS.

I’m including to screenshots of what the update did to my theme. This is what the theme now looks like I reverted to 4.3.4.2:

Hope this will help fix it!

    Hi Geoff,

I just set the WordPress Address (URL) to https (just like the Site Address), updated The Events Calendar plugin to its latest version (the one that was causing a bug on my instal), and it worked! I’ve edited a few events, and the bug is gone: I can now use the recurrence feature again.

Geoff, you can pat yourself in the back with a satisfied smile, because you more than deserve it. The solution to a problem is often right in front of us; the challenge is to find it.

Thanks again for your help and commitment to helping me solve my problem, and I hope the issue I had will provide guidance to users who might have the same problem with SSL certificates.

    Cheers,
    Nicolas

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for keeping my case in mind! I really appreciate your efforts.

After you mentioned it, I went to check my install, and I noticed that the WordPress Address (URL) was http whereas the Site Address (URL) was https.

I’ll change it when I’m at the office, and I’ll let you know if this solves the issue.

Looking forward to giving this a go!

    Cheers,
    Nicolas

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for getting back to me, and for the workarounds! I’m also glad to hear that I haven’t been the only one to experience this issue.

I’ve given SSL Insecure Content Fixer settings a go, but it hasn’t solve the issue. I tested all possible configs offered by the plugin (off, simple, content, widgets and capture), but nothing worked. I still have the same issue as described in my previous email (can’t set recurrence rule and other features of the Event Calendar Pro plugin).

I followed your first recommendation and tried to reset my license key to work with https://www.fleamapket.com, but the admin panel doesn’t seem to offer the possibility to choose between http and https.

Since I could not solve my issue, I had to revert to the-events-calendar v.4.3.1 (both the free and pro version). But I very much look forward a permanent fix, to be able to enjoy the latest versions of your great plugin.

    Thanks!

    **UPDATE**

I downgraded both TheEventCalendar and TheEventCalendarPro to 4.3.1 and the “recurrence rule” came back. The plugin seems now to be fully functional. I’m now pretty sure that the free version of TheEventCalendar was causing this issue. At least, I’m 100% confident that TheEventCalendar was the one causing this bug (I deactivated all my plugins one by one, installed an old version of the theme I use and default WP them)

I haven’t tried the other versions of TheEventCalendar posterior to 4.3.1. But at least I am confident this feedback will help you look into this, and solve this bug in the next version of your plugin.

I leave the thread open, as my issue still needs assistance (since I can’t use the latest version of the plugin)

    Cheers!

Following up on my previous message, I also noticed that besides the non-responsive โ€œAdd Another Ruleโ€ button (which when clicked, actually saves & reload the page), the “Add another organizer” link wasn’t working either, and that when clicking any of the “Start Date & Time/End Date & Time” calendar entries, no calendar appears anymore (while there used to be a calendar popping-up when this entry was clicked).

I now tend to believe that there are some Css o Js conflict involved here…

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for getting back to me. I implemented your CSS rule, and it worked just fine!

Thank you again for your help and reactivity; I really appreciate.

    Nicolas
