January 15, 2014 at 6:34 pm in reply to: Display Custom Field Values with Icons? Pro Pre-Sales Question #93317
Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHi SteveHoney,
Have you seen our video on custom fields? https://theeventscalendar.com/pro-adding-custom-events-attributes/?utm_campaign=in-app&utm_medium=plugin-ecp&utm_source=settings You might be able to just get by with a drop down list, however my testing had troubles with an img link for the icon. If you have other assets, perhaps it could work.
Why don’t you take a look at the video and let me know what you think?

ParticipantHi Etienne,
Let’s see if I understand your question. I think you’re asking about having Event Calendar PRO, WooCommerce Tickets, and Community Events all installed. And if when people add events through the front end, if they can also add tickets to that event. Is that right? If so, the answer is no. They can add the cost of the event, but not tickets. The admin can add ticket to it later, but they are not available from the front end.
The 24-hour format is something that we are aware of. I’d encourage you to add your vote(s) for the feature on our Feature Ideas page https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
And the emails are totally customizable through the WooCommerce plugin.
Does that answer your questions?

ParticipantHi Andrew,
Our plugins are not currently set up to handle bundles of tickets. They way the plugins work to connect events to the e-commerce engines makes me think that might be more on the e-commerce side than the events side. But it’s an excellent idea! Would you be willing to suggest it over at our Feature Ideas page? (https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas) And I honestly don’t know of other plugins that might do that, but maybe you should check out the Woo, and perhaps EDD, websites for options.
As far as ticket price options go, you can set as many options as you’d like. You can see that in action in the videos in our New User Primer https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/wootickets-new-user-primer/
Does that make sense?

ParticipantHi Magna,
I’m not familiar with that theme, but after taking a look at what you’ve already done with Eventbrite, I don’t see any reason WooCommerce Tickets would pose a problem. Of course, I can’t guarantee anything, but I think you should be good.
Let us know how you get on with it.

ParticipantDoes it do the same thing if you deactivate all the other plugins and revert to the TwentyTwelve default theme?

ParticipantGood information there. Thanks for that. Can I ask what your permalink setting is under Settings > Permalink?

ParticipantHi queensevents,
When I look at your site (in Chrome and Firefox) everything looks good (beautiful even!). Is it possibly just a matter of the width of the browser window? Can you stretch it and make the entire calendar show up? From what I can see, everything seems to be working as expected.

ParticipantHi nakturnal,
I apologize for asking a simple question here, but I want to have a clear understanding. You are in the Events > Venues admin screen and you enter a search term and click the “Search Venues” button and it returns events, not venues or the venue you were searching for? Does it return events at that venue? Does it return events with that search term?

ParticipantHi kamloopsparents,
Odd. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to the TwentyTwelve theme? Does that make any difference? Also, it looks like you’re using the TwentyFourteen theme with just a few modifications, is that correct?
From what I can tell, I’m not seeing it on all events. Is that the same for you? Just trying to track down a pattern here.

ParticipantHi Louis,
The WooCommerce Tickets plugin requires both The Events Calendar and WooCommerce to work. It’s basically the bridge between the two that connects tickets to events on the calendar. Does that make sense?

ParticipantHi docp,
While the Filter Bar plugin is out of beta, it has not been released yet. And to have it filter on custom fields is not something it’s designed to do and would require customization.
I’m not sure we’re going to be able to meet your needs at this time.

ParticipantHi Arjan,
I’m not sure we’re a good fit for your needs. While we can do some of them, such as limiting seats and having a message saying it’s sold out as well as email tickets, the plugin really isn’t set up as a booking system to prohibit people registering for more than one event at a time. And I doubt that either WooCommerce or EDD handles the IDEAL payment gateway (but I’m not 100% sure about that, you should check their websites).
I don’t want you to be unhappy with our plugin, so I have to say that I think you should look elsewhere for a booking plugin.

ParticipantHi Kathleen,
It sounds like our Community Events plugin is just what you need. Have you seen our New User Primer where it goes into more detail on how it works? https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/community-events-new-user-primer/ And to be clear, you can use Community Events with the free The Events Calendar, you do not need the PRO plugin for it to work.
Does that make sense?

ParticipantWell, the good news is that we’ve been working on this and I expect that we’ll have it resolved in an upcoming maintenance release.

ParticipantI’m going to let one of the other team members help you with that question. You should hear from them on Wednesday.
