GeoffDecember 29, 2014 at 9:18 am in reply to: How to add a class to links generated by the prev & next event link? #926314Geoff
MemberHi there, Caroline! Thanks for getting in touch.
I think the best way to add a class to the Next and Previous Event links is to do it at the template level. In this case, you can override theΒ single-event.php file (see more on template overrides in our Themer’s Guide), then add the class name directly to the links. You’ll find these in Lines 45-46 and again in 95-96.
Will this work for you? Please let me know. π

MemberHi there, Jen! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re bumping into some trouble here.
I definitely see what you mean. It looks like there is a layout issue (screenshot) where the search form is possibly overlapping the Published and Drafts filters above the events, making them unclickable. This doesn’t seem to be an issue with other Posts, so it looks like an issue on our end.
I’veΒ created a ticket in our system to address this in an upcoming release. In the meantime, you will need to review the list of pending drafts from a larger screen, such as a tablet or desktop, or select from the list of events below the filters. We’ll try to follow up with you directly here in this thread when we have more progress to share.
Thanks again for letting us know!

MemberHi there, Debbie! Thanks for reaching out and I’m sorry you’re bumping into trouble with the calendar layout. I took a look at the link you shared and see what you’re talking about.
The calendar tries to adapt to as many themes as possible by inheriting their styles, but sometimes this can lead to styling conflicts, which is what we’re seeing here.
There’s good news though, and I think we can tackle these conflicts together.Β Try adding this to your theme’sΒ style.css file. The theme’s styles are overriding the calendar’s default styles, so this will fix that:
.tribe-events .entry tr th, .comment tr th, .entry thead th, .comment thead th { color: #fff; font-size: 0.7em; }This will change the color of the days of the week from gray to white, like it should be, then decrease the font size so it fits appropriately in the container. Give that a shot and let me know if it helps. π
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Scott! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re bumping in trouble with entering your license key. Hopefully we can get it figured out here together. π
Wow,Β that’s strange! Typically, you would be able to enter a license key by heading over to Events > Settings > Licenses from the WordPress dashboard (screenshot), as long as The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO plugins are installed and activated. It sounds like you’re not seeing that tab, though, if I’m understanding correctly, correct?
I think the first thing we should try doing is updating both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO so they are both running version 3.9, which is currently the latest. It sounds like you already have 3.9 installed for The Events Calendar, but go ahead and just make sure of that. Then, head over to My Account > Downloads here on this site to download the latest version of The Events Calendar PRO, then install it to your site. Do you see the Licenses tab now?
Give that a shot and let me know what you find. π
Cheers!

I’m going to go ahead and close this ticket, but please feel free to hit us up if any other questions pop up–we’d be happy to help. π

MemberHi Christopher!
Yes, that CSS should cover the featured image on an Organizer page as well.
Also, if you are ever curious about how to find the CSS classnames for custom styling the calendar, this article is a great place to start. It covers the ins and outs of how to use DevTools. You may also want to check out our Themer’s Guide which throughly outlines how to build customized templates and styles.
Changing the Organizer label to something else will require a custom snippet. Try adding this one to your theme’sΒ functions.php file. We’re fairly limited in how much support we can provide for custom development, but this snippet should at least get you started in the right direction. π
Cheers!

MemberAwesome! I’m so glad that worked out, Terri. Great job and thanks for sharing the code–that will definitely come in handy for others searching for the same thing. π
Just as a side note, we’re always taking new feature suggestions over on our UserVoice page. Feel free to share things you’d like to see included in future releases and others will be able to vote on them as well.
Cheers!
