ParticipantI installed Events Calendar on 11/29/14 and on the same date purchased and installed the Pro upgrade. After activating both of them, I could not find anyplace in the settings to enter my license key. Since they were working at the time, I forgot about it.
A couple of days ago Events Calendar was updated to 3.9, whereupon I was warned that I also needed to update EV Pro. I still couldn’t find anyplace to enter the license key. I saw a message telling me to click a link to enter the license key, and when I did that, I was taken to the EV settings page where a message said something to the effect “Requested tab does not exist.” This leads me to believe that there should be another tab on the settings page where the license key is to be entered, but that tab has never appeared.
The site I’m developing for my church has not yet been launched. It is housed in a subfolder under our existing static HTML site. It is currently password protected so that only people in the church who need to review it before it goes live can view it. Let me know if you need a username/password to access the site, and, if so, I’ll set it up for you. You probably have my email on hand, but if not, it’s [email protected].
I suppose when this issue is resolved, I’ll need to download the updated EV Pro and will need instructions on where to go for that.
Thanks in advance for your help.

MemberHi there, Scott! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re bumping in trouble with entering your license key. Hopefully we can get it figured out here together. 🙂
Wow, that’s strange! Typically, you would be able to enter a license key by heading over to Events > Settings > Licenses from the WordPress dashboard (screenshot), as long as The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO plugins are installed and activated. It sounds like you’re not seeing that tab, though, if I’m understanding correctly, correct?
I think the first thing we should try doing is updating both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO so they are both running version 3.9, which is currently the latest. It sounds like you already have 3.9 installed for The Events Calendar, but go ahead and just make sure of that. Then, head over to My Account > Downloads here on this site to download the latest version of The Events Calendar PRO, then install it to your site. Do you see the Licenses tab now?
Give that a shot and let me know what you find. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantI was able to download and install EV Pro from the download link in my account.
However, the place where the license key should be entered is still not showing up on the settings page. I gather there should be a separate tab for that, but no such tab is visible.
Here’s the “System Information” from the panel at the bottom of the Help tab on the Settings page:

MemberHey there, Steve! Thanks for following up.
Hmm, I don’t see anything in there that immediately stands out as a red flag. It looks like you’re running this as part of a multisite installation–is that correct? If so, do you see the Licenses tab in the Network Admin settings?
Although I haven’t seen this specific issue pop up before, I have seen situations where conflicts with themes and other plugins can cause issues. If the multisite setting is not the case, will you please try the steps outlined in our Testing for Conflicts Guide as a next step?
Thanks!

ParticipantFollowing your suggestion, I solved the problem as follows:
Of course, with a multisite, you can only install plugins at the network level, but they can then be activated for only specific sites as desired. In my case, I had only activated EV and EV Pro on the main site and not on any of the three sub-sites. Since I did not network activate EV and EV Pro, there was no settings menu for them at the network level. So I deactivated EV and EV Pro on the main site and then network activated them. When I did so, I was able to access an EV settings screen at the network level that let me enter and validate my license key.
Being the suspicious sort, I’ll probably leave EV and EV Pro network activated so I can be sure to receive updates, although it runs contrary to my general practice of only running plugins on any given site that are absolutely needed by that site.
Anyway, thanks much for the help in resolving the issue. I’m wondering if your programmers might consider addressing this issue in a later update so that EV Pro does not have to be network activated on a multisite in order for it to run and be updated on one or more of the sites within the multisite.

MemberNice! I’m glad that we were able to pin multisite down as the root of wha was going on.
Good call on the network activation. That’s definitely something worth considering and I’ve made a note to bring it up with the team.
Thanks again for reaching out! I’ll go ahead and close this thread but feel free to hit us up if anything else pops up–we’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!
