Update: All is working well. I left it for a couple of hours and gave it another go. All worked well with the automatic update. I would like to confirm the the router page problem is solved as well. Though I suspect that you already know about that. Congrats on solving that one. I know that it has been a thorn in your side for a while.
Mark as resolved.
CraigMemberHey there Rob,
Yeah. Still having problems with this one. I know that Bruce is on that right track because when I apply one column to the whole site the alignment problem goes away. If you know how to apply the one column style to just this one page that would give me a suitable work around. The supplier of the plugin that causes the problem doesn’t seem interested in the problem at all.
Just to clarify. I am talking about the community/add page. All I need to know is how to make that page one column without effecting other pages.CraigMemberHi Bruce. I am having a similar problem and I’m pretty sure that I can fix it with a full with layout as well. But how do you go about applying it to this page given that it is not listed in the backend with other pages. I want to keep a sidebar for the calendar on the frontend but i’m not worried about it on the other pages.
CraigMemberHi guys
Just a heads-up. Im still having a problem with this issue as well. Tried changing to a different permalink but no go. If you need more info then let me know.CraigMemberHi Rob,
Given that you anticipate such a search tool soon then I can wait. I had no idea that you had one in the works. I will take a look at your suggested search plugin to cover me while I wait for the official one to hit the updates.
Just so I understand what you are planning for the search tool. Will it exist on the frontend of the site for the general public to use?CraigMemberHi Rob, I think that this message has been overlooked due to email notification being down. Still interested to hear your thoughts on location searching and potential custom coding.
CraigMemberTurns out that a plugin called Frontend Membership from net chillies is changing the form layout.
I also found the div info that I was looking for.
Thanks for your time and help on this one. You have given me some very useful information and some good cluse on how to solve my problem.CraigMemberCan I ask, what div contains the start and end date/time elements and what page can find this in. I’ve searched the code on and off for days now and can’t seem to find it.
CraigMemberHi Rob, Joyce, Jonah. I just now saw you responses. I must have forgotten to tick the notify box. I’ll have a poke around and see how it goes. Thanks for your ideas. Just to let you know the problem came right off the bat of a fresh install of 2010. Kind of surprised me that it rendered that way.
CraigMemberSorry. The comment box rejected the full div code that I tried to paste into the text. so it cut it out. (The search box would probably go In the “tribe-events-calendar-header.)
P.s. Is the location info a custom field or a custom category. Or is it something else?CraigMemberHey, Rob. Sorry for the delay in responding. It’s the time difference that comes from living in Australia.
I expect that most users implement your great plugins to promote events in one region or city. And see the events calendar as an addition to their blog. However, I am looking beyond that. The site that I am putting together is “Just Auditions”. A directory of auditions for any location in which the site becomes popular. Promotion of auditions is the sole purpose of the site. It is aimed primarily at theatre and stage so I would guess that such a search option would need to target the location where the audition would be held. ( The venue ) Or at the very least the state the venue is in, so that a search would return a good number of results. I only noticed a day ago that the community plugin had no stock search field on the frontend for the public to do this. It made me think that you all may be underestimating the value of your plugins. To try and answer your question more directly. The events ( auditions ) submitted by users ( theaters ) would need to be searchable by site visiters. The search box would probably go in the . As there is no off the shelf solution I am happy to discuss some custom coding for this option.CraigMemberSorry Joyce,
I should have known better than sending you a link to a member page. I have set up a username and password for you to use so you can see the problem better. UN: bob PW: bob. The page can be found at My Account>Add an Audition. Here is the link for the sign in page to get you started http://justauditions.com/sign-in/ .
During my testing of the plugins in 2011 on my local host it was working fine. Mind you I had switched to a one column format with no sidebar and modified the width of the page. Thing is, I want to keep the sidebar for other info. This is partly why I asked about preferred themes. I was curious to see if you had developed the plugins on 2010 or 2011. If that had been so then they would render as you intended. I did consider running the calendar on Thesis but didn’t want the complexity that comes with it. Thesis is great in most cases but not for everything. I will also take a good look at Epic Era. Good to know that there are some themes well suited to the calendar and community plugins. Even so, it would be great if you know how to solve this rendering problem with the Time/Date form elements. Thanks
CraigCraigMemberHi Jonah,
A popup calendar where you can click on the dates or multiple dates to add them to the list. Once added to the list of event dates then a time option would apear beside each date in the list. I think such an option would completely wrap up all the date options that people might need. Worth thinking about for future upgrades. Having said that I think you guys have done a great job putting this plugin set together.Craig.
PS. Thanks for the suggestions. They will come in handy.CraigMemberSorry Michelle, I’m testing on a localhost. Not sure how I can share that. But here is the link to the plugin site. http://www.netchillies.com/frontend-membership-controls . I’m also using this plugin for excerpts that is rather cool. http://www.josie.it/wordpress/wordpress-plugin-auto-excerpt-everywhere/ . if you have any questions you cam email me at [email protected] .
CraigMemberFor post/submission management I’m using the forms that you have provided. They are good forms. I just didn’t like the registration form for wordpress. That is what started me down this road. With this plugin the user can set their own password and I can include a terms page in the process. The look of it all is more consistent with the rest of the site as well.
