Craig
MemberHey Guys, I have events that occur on differing days of the week.
Example:
wed, thurs, fri. On week one.
wed, thurs, fri, sat. On week two.
thurs, fri, sat, sun. On week three.
In addition to this I am also setting up “Community” so it needs to be super idiot proof for people to work with. Like a popup date picker. Thoughts?May 21, 2012 at 10:06 am #19448Jonah
ParticipantHi Craig,
Unfortunately we do not offer custom reoccurrence patterns that do not follow a pattern right now. This may be a feature we’ll introduce in a future version though.
I’m not sure what your question is about Community needing to be idiot proof. Can you please clarify?
Thanks,

MemberThanks for the reply. I will and can work with the date system that you have in place but I was just hoping for the other option.
RE: Community date picker being idiot proof. I also have the Community plugin. The custom re-occurrence date function is rather complicated for first time users. And I don’t think that Joe public will find it easy to use without a tutorial. But if I cant have out of pattern event dates then is not going to be an issue.
Again, thanks for your reply.

ParticipantHi Craig,
re: the idiot proof date picker – I’m not really sure what the best approach to make this more user friendly for end users would be but am open to suggestions. One suggestion you could implement is integrating a fancybox or lightbox style popup and put little help icons linking to quick tutorials you put together.
I hope that helps!

MemberHi Jonah,
A popup calendar where you can click on the dates or multiple dates to add them to the list. Once added to the list of event dates then a time option would apear beside each date in the list. I think such an option would completely wrap up all the date options that people might need. Worth thinking about for future upgrades. Having said that I think you guys have done a great job putting this plugin set together.Craig.
PS. Thanks for the suggestions. They will come in handy.May 23, 2012 at 3:55 pm #19629Jonah
ParticipantHi Craig,
That’s a fantastic suggestion and would account for any custom date situation someone would need. We’ve got a ticket for improving the recurrence patterns as a feature in the future so I will add this to the list of ideas.
Thanks,
