ParticipantHowdy thestudiodoor,
That is odd. This is pretty clearly a conflict with your theme. I would not be surprised if one of your theme’s templates is less conflicty (technical term for you there) though. Have you tried the various theme options in WP Admin > Events Settings > Display? Check out the “Events template” drop down. You might try each of this, and click Save then retest. Did one of them restore your navigation to functional order?
Let me know if that helped, or if there is something more I can do. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy fitbycai,
I am glad you posted. Unfortunately, there is only so much we can assist you with when it comes to CSS modification, especially when you have lots of changes. Our scope of support dives into a bit more detail here, but when it comes to modifications like these we tend to offer a general overview of advice, and it is up to you to apply that to your specific site. I hope that makes sense. We are very glad to assist you to the extent outlined in out support agreement.
That said, I do hate to say I can’t help nice folks. Here is the CSS you want, but please know that I can not always violate our support agreement like this 😀 :
body .tribe-bar-views-inner,body #tribe-bar-views .tribe-bar-views-list .tribe-bar-views-option a { background: #f28203; }
body .tribe-events-page-title { color: #2d5c88; }
body .main_color h3 { color: #2d5c88; }Add that to any of your CSS files. If you do not already have one you have been making modifications in, you might follow the WP directions for creating a child theme and putting it there. Also, just so you know we have a guide that does its best to help folks like you figure out how to create Tribe CSS selectors like I did and thus be able to modify the colors and such.
I hope that helped! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

ParticipantThank you so much for running through all of those steps. I can’t imagine it was fun. But, it was supremely helpful.
If I had to guess the Savior theme you are running is tapping into WP Custom Post Types WP Queries, or possibly WP Timezone Options in a way that does not mix well with our recurring events. By far the best way to fix this is to get the theme author involved. We are in luck, the theme author guarantees compatibility with The Events Calendar. I think he would be very interested in diving into this and fixing it. The first step would likely be to report it to him, you might link to this thread and also include as much detail as you can about your site and the problem that way he can recreate it. We love Justin’s work around here. Anything we can do to help we will be glad to. Even if there is something we can change about the plugin to make it easier on theme authors like him we would certainly consider it. Such discussions are often done via our email, [email protected].
If you want to dive in yourself you sure can. But, unless you are intimately familiar with the theme there is going to be a lot of stabbing in the dark. The initial stabs generally involve finding areas of the plugin that tap into the above WP APIs, and disabling or bypassing them then retesting.
Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy michelleabt,
I apologize for my delay in getting back to you. I started researching this issue early yesterday, but was pulled away and never finished.
I have seen this issue a few times before. Generally it boils down to a problem plugin, or once recently a theme. The real trick on testing it out, is that event times appear to be shifted when the event is created. So, to test for conflicts you can not simply disable the theme and plugins, then check to see if the dates are fixed. Rather, you must disable plugins and themes, then try recreating the recurring event. If the new event has the correct times, then you enable your theme and recreate an events, If it still works, then you reenable a plugin..
I know this is a pain. I really wish there was a better way. But we need to figure out where the problem is before trying to figure out how to fix it.
Could you try testing for conflicts once again, only this time try creating a new event as outlined above? Let me know if there are any questions or anything along the way. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy persyst,
I am sorry for my delay in getting back to you. I did not see your topic yesterday when I was doing my responses. 🙁
It sounds to me like you would be interested in a our list of freelancers. We certainly make no money off the referrals or anything. But we keep this on hand for folks like you who want someone to just handle it for them and not worry about working with support. You can obtain this list by emailing [email protected] and requesting it. Many of the folks on that list specialize in small jobs just like this.
In response to your question, yes the scripts will contain the word script. They should all begin with “<script” but after that it is anyone’s guess.
I wish I was able to help you more. But, for JS bugs sometimes it does just make sense to have someone fix it for you. Let me know if there is anything more I can do from a support angle. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy clesgourgues,
It sounds to me like you want to create a new WP Page. It will have its own unique slug and everything else a page has. In that page you would like to embed the calendars list view. Is that correct? If so, sadly that is not possible. We do have a feature planned that would allow this, but we are laying a lot of groundwork to make that possible in current and subsequent plugin versions.
Could you simply link direct to the month view, and skip creating an extra page? That will essentially override the default setting and switch the user to month view. Of course they can still switch back, but basically that would be of their own volition.

ParticipantHowdy macsol & firestep,
Thank you for running through those trouble shooting steps. Now that we have isolated it we can skip right to figuring out a solution.
First thing I would do if I was you is update the theme if possible. If not, contact the theme developer. They have evidently created some customizations for the site when run in tandem with The Events Calendar. I bet the author has simply not had a chance to release an updated version of the theme that works with TEC 3.7. While you wait for it to be fixed, you might try simply renaming this folder ../wp-content/themes/advocator/tribe-events/ from “tribe-events” to “tribe-events-bak”. That should remove any customizations the theme author has done. But it might also adversely affect the sites look, in which case you would want to rename it back.
Does that work for you and fully answer your question? Please let me know. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy chrisdm,
I would love to help, but I am not 100% sure I follow the question. What do you mean by “Specific calendars”? Can you perhaps provide a link to one? Armed with the knowledge of what you want, hopefully I can help you do it. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy tonypantello,
A good question. We have a guide that walks you through adding and editting PHP templates, which is exactly what you will want todo. Specifically you will want to follow that guide to copy /the-events-calendar/views/single-event.php to a theme override folder, then make your edits there.
Did that guide make sense? Are you able to accomplish that change now?

August 7, 2014 at 3:02 am in reply to: Event Ticket Woo Commerce products are not showing up on Product Category pages #603074Brook
ParticipantHowdy carlameeske,
For sure! There is a field on the WooCom edit products page that is truly hidden in plain sight. When editing any WooCommerce product including those created by WooTickets, you will see the “Catalog Visibility” field just above the update button. If you want the product/ticket to be visible, then change it from hidden. Pretty sneaky, aye?
Did that do what you wanted? Let me know if you don’t mind. Cheers!

August 6, 2014 at 11:40 am in reply to: How to add Photo View upcoming events to homepage section??? #597830Brook
ParticipantHowdy orion,
I wish that was easier to do. There really is no great way to do that right, unless a simple link to the photo view from the home page will suffice.
The best method currently available is to create a WP Page Theme that strips out all header and footer stuff, and is just the calendar. Assign that to the calendar. Then, include the map view via an iframe. Sound complicated? It is a bit, and certainly requires some good WP API knowledge. 🙁
We are working on a better solution. Checkout this feature suggestion. It is worth voting on if you have not already. This is a rather large undertaking though, and might not be released for some time.
Did that all make sense? Please let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy noliboni,
I like that idea! I wish it was possible with the currently available tools. Unfortunately the available options are:
- <span style=”font-size: 13px;”>Calendar RSS feeds, which only work with RSS application not calendar ones</span>
- <span style=”font-size: small;”>Manual </span>synchronizations<span style=”font-size: small;”> via the download iCal button.</span>
The Google Cal API we use is limited to syncing one event and can not do multiples. So that is right out. Hence why we have the download button when viewing multiples that allows you to download the iCal file.
It sounds like you would be interested in voting on this feature request. Finally, it is worth mentioning that we are currently developing a way to import third party calendars which export iCals directly into the events calendar. This would apply to Google Calendar. So if you have an event you have created there, it can be autoatically importe into TEC. But, the reverse is not a feature we are yet developing.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!

ParticipantThank you cfcpca!
I have done some serious hunting and tried to recreate the problem. No dice. Fair warning, debugging this is not going to be easy but I shall do my utmost to make it as painless as possible.
I want to be 100% sure that the install is solid. To do that could you please do the following steps. I apologize if they seem redundant, but each detail is rather important in guaranteeing that the install is up to snuff. Since you seem to most only have test events, hopefully you will not mind deleting them…
- Go to WP Admin > Installed Plugins, and deactivate all four Tribe Plugins if you have not already, then delete them.
- Download/install, and activate Event Rocket.
- Use Event Rocket’s Project Jettison to delete all Event settings and info.
- Deactivate all other plugins, including any WP Multi User/ Network ones that you can.
- Switch to the Twenty Thirteen theme.
- Download/Install and activate The Events Calendar, and Events Calendar PRO.
- Try flushing your permalinks once more. Only this time try changing the structure of your permalinks, and saving it. Go to the front end, confirm the structure was changed.
- Before activating anything else or doing pretty much anything, try creating a recurring event.
What is the result of Step 8? Did that work properly this time? If not, can you try repeating Step 7? Did it work now? At this point you can change your permalinks back to your desired setting.
If by Step 8 things are working excellent. Then it would be a good idea to try reactivating things one at a time, or perhaps a few at a time if you are feeling daring. In between each reactivation, test creating an even again. Does it work properly? If not, make a note of what you just activated/did.
I apologize for the 8 step process. I just want to try everything I can think of and leave nothing to maybe. This issue is a bit puzzling, but those steps should help clarify things a lot. Let me know if you have questions. Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy studioazione,
Good call on testing to see if your theme was involved. Now we can skip straight to trying to figure out how to fix it.
This is really tricky. The only error in the browser’ console I see is about the Google Maps API, and is almost certainly not related. Likely this problem stems from something in your theme that dabbles with custom taxonomies, or WP Queries. If I were in your shoes I would start by checking the server logs, specifically the PHP ones. Do you see anything that might be indicating the problem? If not then I would move on to doing case insensitive searches through the text fields of my theme directory, for “query” and “taxonom”. Do any of those look they could potentially dabble with the plugins running under the theme? What happens if you disable those bits of code? Unfortunately due to the lack of an eerror message we are left with the entire theme as our haystack, and it will require a trained eye to spot the needle. Which leads me to the alternate option..
Have you tried contacting the theme developer? I notice this is a custom theme, but is most of the code yours or is it based on another? If the problem persists in the original unmodified theme you should ask the theme developer if he will look into it. Many devs are very interested in doing this, because The Events Calendar is one of the top 20 most popular WordPress Plugins with over a million downloads. If the problem does not persist in the undmodified theme, what have you changed? Anything that would relate to queries, taxonomies, of custom post types?
I look forward to helping you further. Please let us know the answers to the above questions if possible. I am glad to help you along the way and answer further questions. Cheers! 🙂
