Events in List View with Filter Bar

Using the Advocator theme, showing events in list view produces the following error:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function tribe_has_past_events() in ~../wp-content/themes/advocator/tribe-events/list/nav.php on line 30”

This errors *does not* occur when the TwentyThirteen theme is applied and all plugins (except Events Calendar, PRO and Filter Bar) removed.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you for running through those trouble shooting steps. Now that we have isolated it we can skip right to figuring out a solution.

First thing I would do if I was you is update the theme if possible. If not, contact the theme developer. They have evidently created some customizations for the site when run in tandem with The Events Calendar. I bet the author has simply not had a chance to release an updated version of the theme that works with TEC 3.7. While you wait for it to be fixed, you might try simply renaming this folder ../wp-content/themes/advocator/tribe-events/ from “tribe-events” to “tribe-events-bak”. That should remove any customizations the theme author has done. But it might also adversely affect the sites look, in which case you would want to rename it back.

Thanks for the assistance. Advocator upgraded their theme to version 1.6.4 which has fixed the issue. Updates to the theme do not notify automatically unless you install the Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin.

Awesome! We try to keep API changes to a minimum. But sometimes they must be made and that means themes might need updates. Glad to see Advocator was able to update the theme so quickly.
