I have users looking to subscribe to our calendar via google cal/ical. I see the option to download, is there a way for them to sign up for our calendar, so that any new events that we input, will automatically show up in their phone….

We have half our users using google cal, and the other half using ical or mac ipad/iphones.

    Any suggestions?

    Howdy noliboni,

I like that idea! I wish it was possible with the currently available tools. Unfortunately the available options are:

    • <span style=”font-size: 13px;”>Calendar RSS feeds, which only work with RSS application not calendar ones</span>
    • <span style=”font-size: small;”>Manual </span>synchronizations<span style=”font-size: small;”> via the download iCal button.</span>

The Google Cal API we use is limited to syncing one event and can not do multiples. So that is right out. Hence why we have the download button when viewing multiples that allows you to download the iCal file.

It sounds like you would be interested in voting on this feature request. Finally, it is worth mentioning that we are currently developing a way to import third party calendars which export iCals directly into the events calendar. This would apply to Google Calendar. So if you have an event you have created there, it can be autoatically importe into TEC. But, the reverse is not a feature we are yet developing.

Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!
