MemberSo the best thing on a live site is to turn off the display of errors, as they can contain information that ideally should not be exposed to members of the public.
Turning off the display of errors can vary from hosting environment to hosting environment, so do check in with Hostgator to find out how to do this on your site.
Regarding the deprecated function, we’re definitely working to clean up the codebase of our plugins with each release in order to catch things like this. However, the error message is really just a means of PHP warning us that a particular part of the PHP language should no longer be used – it will actually still function as expected.
So, in this case, the best approach is to turn off the display of errors.
I hope that helps but let me know if you have any further questions.
May 31, 2013 at 8:59 am in reply to: is there a way to customize event dates to omit some days? #50224Barry
MemberOK – so I want to make sure I’m fully understanding the problem first of all.
Is this the sort of recurring event pattern that you/the people submitting events are setting up? If so it seems to work for me, with the correct days being populated in June and nothing past that – July was completely clear for example.
So in your case is the recurring event pattern of the same type (if so can you provide a screenshot just so I can double check) and can you also link to an example where the events continue on until the end of time?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberNo problem at all – since it’s sounding like we’re all good here I’ll go ahead and close this thread, do feel free to create new ones as needed though 🙂
Barry
MemberI’m guessing you don’t need further help here and will now close this thread: some significant changes as of the forthcoming 3.0 release may also provide resolution.

MemberHi! I’m re-opening per your email – if you can provide a little more detail we’d be happy to help out here 🙂
Barry
MemberIs it possible the users have a basic Subscriber role? You may find they need to at least be Authors.

MemberYou should be able to obtain the iCal ‘view’ of calendar data by appending /ical/ to the relevant URL, if that’s what you mean?
By all means feel free to play with our test site at http://wpshindig.com/events/ and test this out to see if it fits your requirements 🙂

MemberHi Clarke, sounds like a fantastic project.
The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO themselves don’t facilitate that (feel free to add a suggestion on our UserVoice page though) but if you feel confident working with code or have at your disposal the services of someone who does then you could probably put this together without too much effort.
Hope that answers your question – let me know if there’s anything else.
Barry
MemberOh ok – well thanks for reporting back with the fix – hopefully it helps someone else out there 🙂

Member3.0 is indeed the next release as in the response you saw on UserVoice – we’re basically on track to making that release sometime in the next few weeks (but no guarantees!).
Barry
MemberThat will certainly be more readily possible as of the next release – right now though you’d have to leverage your web browser’s print capabilities.
May 29, 2013 at 11:56 am in reply to: Events List Advanced Widget price not showing. tribe_get_cost() returns empty. #50101Barry
MemberThe event cost field is hidden when a ticketing plugin like WooTickets is activated (since that works differently and can support a range of prices per event).
However it is the event cost field that the “price” refers to in this context so, unfortunately, it isn’t available.
It would definitely be worth considering paths to integrate the two more tightly though, and if you are down to describe your use case on our UserVoice page others could also show their support for this (or you may find an existing entry for this that you could show your support for):
Barry
MemberFantastic, that’s great to see – especially that you did so without any development skills – looks like some good times to be had in London 🙂
Barry
MemberEditing the PDF tickets is, I’m afraid, not something we can help with here – right now it requires a solid grasp of PHP and WordPress development so it’s possible, but you’d need to roll your sleeves up and dive into the code.
The next release of WooTickets should make this sort of task a little easier 🙂
Barry
MemberExcellent 🙂
