MemberHi – glad you love the plugin!
So the calendar widget is basically built to only list events within whichever month is currently being viewed – a much better match here would be the list widget – which you could then customize and style to look like the calendar widget’s list.
Would that work here? We’ve got a load of info on the mechanics of customizing things in our Themer’s Guide:
Naturally, you could look at and “borrow” code from the calendar widget template to help achieve this π

MemberHi: I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties here.
Can you confirm if this is a problem for all of the pages/identities you are importing from? Can you share a couple of examples (that is, share the relevant Facebook URLs so I can test things out from over here)?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Dave!
I’m afraid that is not currently a feature but we currently have pretty much this very request under review:
You are more than welcome to show your support by upvoting the request – and if you continue to monitor the above URL you will be able to check in periodically and see if we’ve started work on it or not π
Does that answer your question?

MemberHi Chris!
It is highly customizable to say the least π
It does come complete with its own suite of templates, but these can be overridden in tried and tested style by placing your own copy within your theme/child theme.
You can get a great sense for how it all pieces together by reviewing our Themer’s Guide.
Does that help?

MemberHi – thanks for reporting this.
We’ve occasionally seen something similar and it’s proven difficult to reliably replicate – but as we’re just in the final stages of QA for the very next release I did check in on progress and this very aspect was tested: looks like it got a clean bill of health, so if you can put up with this for a little longer relief should be in sight!

MemberHi David!
That was really just a starting point – you might tweak and further build on it and use helpers like tribe_is_past() to avoid repeating it on the past events page.
Is there any way to display both upcoming & past events in the same loop? I will need to do the same thing for the Event Categories too.
It’s possible for sure – but I’m afraid that sort of customization is a bit beyond what we can help you with here on the forum. Some good WP coding knowledge would definitely be required (and you’d probably be interested in filter hooks like parse_query and pre_get_posts here).
Good luck π

MemberShe’s definitely welcome to contact us and/or submit pull requests via our GitHub page π
So the simple answer is to just create a separate widget area without the countdown for the events pages, right?
I’m not sure why a separate widget area would make any real difference here, unless the existing one is in some way atypical or not actually a “native” WP widgetized area – but it could be worth exploring for sure.

MemberMy pleasure, I hope you figure something out here π

MemberIt’s difficult to say, particularly as you seem to be developing locally. Are you able to copy your site to a remote location so you can share a URL?
Barry
MemberHi guys, did either of you have a chance to check in with the theme author and were they able to offer any insights here?
Barry
MemberThat could be worth a try, but before you do I think at this point I’d recommend running through our regular troubleshooting steps:
- Please ensure The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO are up-to-date
- Deactivate all other plugins
- Switch to a default, completely unmodified theme like Twenty Thirteen
- Does the same issue persist?
- Assuming for a moment it does not, please now start reactivating everything – checking at each stage to see if the problem has returned
This is a great way to zero in on any potential conflicts that might be impacting.

MemberFantastic – happy to help π
I’ll go ahead and close this thread but definitely feel free to open new ones if you need assistance with anything else. Also, if you have a moment to spare, we’d love to hear about your experiences with The Events Calendar so far. Thanks again!

MemberAwesome π
I’ll go ahead and close this thread but if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed … also, if you have a moment to spare, we’d also love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar over on our review page. Thanks again!

MemberHi CΓ©dric,
Unfortunately we’re pretty limited in terms of what support we can offer re WPML. The way it works presents a number of challenges and, though we’re hopeful of incrementally working with the WPML team to improve things, right now it’s something where we’d really need to leave integration to you or a developer working on your behalf.
Sorry we can’t offer more on this occasion.
Barry
MemberGreat!
Along these lines I would like to be able to add other limits … Having a way to suppress specific instances of recurring events like that so they cannot be entered would be great.
That’s not a bad idea and you can post requests for new features/functionality over on our UserVoice page π
Finally, I would like to alert people to the fact that βNeverβ means 12 months worth. Can you help me find the location in the template where I can put this message?
Certainly π
The first thing to do if you haven’t already done so is review our Themer’s Guide which covers the basics of safely overriding and customizing our templates.
In this case, you are probably going to be especially interested in the community/modules/recurrence.php template – somewhere in there you’ll see a line like this:
<select name="recurrence[type]">You might place your custom message right above that (but of course you can play around with this and, should anything break, simply start afresh by wiping your custom template and copying and pasting in the original again).
Does that help?
