MemberHi there – so the first thing to do (if you haven’t already done so) is read up on theming The Events Calendar and template overrides.
You’ll want to copy across and modify list.php to your theme’s events folder. Then, locate these lines in your custom version of list.php and remove them.
That should remove the start/end date fields from the meta area on the upcoming events list page.

MemberThanks Schalk; guys please do vote on UserVoice rather than posting here if you wish to suggest features/support existing requests. Thanks!

MemberThat’s a great idea – thanks for posting it on UserVoice.
Barry
MemberRight now that isn’t quite possible as there is an outstanding issue we need to resolve where new orders are added manually but the connection with WooTickets isn’t made.
However, our next release should make it possible to use WooCommerce’s add order functionality and have the new order reflect successfully on the WooTickets attendee list.

MemberNo problem, thanks for reporting the fix that you found for this 🙂
I’ll close this thread now since it seems we’re all sorted on this front.

MemberWhat is the value of Events > Settings > Template > Events Template? Can you try changing it to Default Page Template (unless it’s already at that setting) or otherwise playing with it?
My guess is that it is currently set to something like Blog and therefore the layout inherits the traits of blog posts.
Barry
MemberLooks to me like it’s gone – isn’t this the page you were referring to when you wrote “event calendar view”?
Barry
MemberPlease also break out any new issues into new threads, otherwise tracking which we have solved and which need further attention will rapidly become quite confusing. Thanks! 🙂
Barry
MemberSo I tried this with the News theme (which it looks like you are using) however on single events for me the breadcrumb trail looks like Home > Event Name – perhaps you’ve made some customizations to your theme, or another plugin or setting is impacting somehow?
Regarding the event calendar view, can you try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file?
Barry
MemberNo problem, I’ll close this thread.
April 7, 2013 at 6:42 am in reply to: Plugin Baked into Theme but Need to Extend Functionality with Event Calendar Pro #45112Barry
MemberHi Phil,
It’s a fairly unusual situation. One problem that comes to mind is that our plugin versions must be in-synch if they are to work properly (ie, if you use The Events Calendar 2.0.11 you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11) and it’s not clear which version is baked into the theme or if it has been modified substantially, etc.
I appreciate the theme vendor’s position but would you be able to get back in touch with them and ask if there is a means of disabling their “baked in” events calendar functionality?
Barry
MemberI don’t have an installation with WP SEO to test this on right now, but something like this might work.
Barry
MemberHi alonso, there are a few ways you might approach that; one would be to create a “New Events” category. Would that work here?
Barry
MemberIt is indeed a tad slow. How many events are currently in the system? Though I note you tried a few troubleshooting steps could I ask you to run through all of these steps in the first instance:
- Please ensure that your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch … for instance if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11
- Deactivate all other plugins and change your theme to a default, unmodified one such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
- Now test to see if the problem still exists
- If the problem has been solved by these steps, start reactivating everything one-at-a-time, testing at each point to see if the issue has returned
- If the issue does return, take note of whichever plugin (or theme) you reactivated immediately before it started again – it’s likely there is a conflict with this item
It may also be helpful to know what your permalink structure (you can find this in Settings > Permalinks) is set to.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberAlthough Twenty Ten used to be one of the stable of default themes it no longer ships with current versions of WordPress, so, could I ask you to repeat that troubleshooting process but use Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve instead?
That would just help to isolate this to Twenty Ten (or not) and then we’ll have a better clue as to where we should look.
Thanks!
