Just updated ECP and started receiving the following fatal error. Not sure how to resolve it?
worldgolfskillsParticipantFatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/content/a2pnexwpnas02_data01/18/3067518/html/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/functions/template-tags/venue.php on line 97
worldgolfskillsParticipantI think I might have found a way around this by issuing an ‘international’ tag to all of the countries I’m wanting to filter, however I’m still unsure how I can filter by two additional items.
[tribe_events_list category=”world-golf-scramble” tag=”international”]
Right now I’m wanting to filter all events that are in the world-golf-scramble category AND also have an international tag on them. However, right now it is adding events with the world-golf-scramble category that don’t have the tag of international on them? Is there a way to set it so that both the category and tag have to be selected in order for it to appear?

worldgolfskillsParticipantScratch that. It’s now working. However, my mobile menu bar does not work on pages where ECP is integrated. It works on my welcome page, but when I switch over to any pages with ECP it does not work. Please advise.
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi George,
Yes, that functionality works just fine. However, I’m just trying to figure out a way so that if one of my facilities hosts four different events for example, each event doesn’t just show up as:
url.com/event/facility-1
url.com/event/facility-2In a perfect world, I’d like it to show up.
url.com/event/%category%/facilityI can’t figure out another way to easily automate this without including the event name in the title like.
url.com/event/event-name-facility-nameworldgolfskillsParticipantI would think this would be an issue across the entire user base with regard to theme updates having major impacts on the speed of the entire plugin. I tested both before the update and even restored it prior to the update and there is a significant difference. I’ve reinstalled the update and have got the permalinks set to pretty and the speed is incredibly slow.
What would you do in my situation? Just not update the theme?
worldgolfskillsParticipantThat did the trick! Thanks!
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi Brian. Thanks for the insight. I think what I’ll do is utilize the tag feature to filter events by state and then utilize the categories feature to filter by event type. From there, I’ll just create a filter on our main site where users can filter by region/state and I can provide a link to pre-selected regional/states. Thanks for your continued help and support. I really appreciate everything you do to help clients like me out!
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi Brian,
Just got off the phone with GoDaddy and they said the issue is with the Google API and how it is loading the map. They said it would be best to have someone with ECP reach out to Google to see how the API can be optimized. On our end, the event calendar is hosted on a WordPress dedicated server with built in caching, which they said is performing optimally.
Do you have any other ideas or suggestions of what other clients are doing to get around this issue?
All the best,
Paul
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi Brian,
Thanks for sending this over. Do you know of any other ECP clients who have had success with the plugin? It looks like it could help, but I just want to make sure before I purchase the premium package that would cache for mobile devices.
Thanks!
Paul
worldgolfskillsParticipantthe-events-calendar/views/default-template.php
the-events-calendar/views/month.php
the-events-calendar/views/day.php
the-events-calendar/views/single-event.php
the-events-calendar/views/list.phpthe-events-calendar/lib/tribe-events-bar.class.php
Would it be in any of these? These are the only “views” directories I can find.
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi Brian. The only thing similar I can find similar is a .js:
the-events-calendar/resources/tribe-events-bar.js
Couldn’t find the bar.php in my theme either?
worldgolfskillsParticipantHi Brian.
Thanks for the quick reply. I went to try and enter the script into the-events-calendar\views\modules\bar.php but that option is not available. There are some views folders, but none with the /modules/bar.php.
I also have the Events Calendar Pro installed so not sure if that makes a difference. If you could, please just let me know what folder to install it to and where in that folder you’d like me to install it and I can get it done!
Thanks so much!
Paul
worldgolfskillsParticipantFantastic! Thanks so much for your quick response and all of your assistance! It’s much appreciated!
