ParticipantSky,
Thanks for following up… but I feel like we’re not talking about the same thing. The notes for 4.7.5 describe a “fix” that will display a message when tickets are not yet available. This makes it sound like the message will just show up under those conditions. There’s no mention (in 4.7.5) of filters, or developer level, or anything like that. Plus, I’ve looked pretty thoroughly through the knowledge base and technical documentation and couldn’t find anything that explains how to implement this feature.
Would you mind checking again about this?

ParticipantWell, sure, I think that message has always been there. But I’m wondering about the *start date* message, as indicated in these release notes:

ParticipantI’m not MT Support, but I’ve had something similar on my site.
Did your customer happen to test whether anything happens when they tap the space where the +/- is supposed to appear? Is it possible that you just need to fix the CSS to display those symbols in a different color? When I changed my theme I had to modify quite a lot of the CSS to fix the text color in various places. Everything was actually on the page, but certain elements were not visible because of my incompatible
colorandbackground-colorchoices.I hope your issue will turn out to be as straightforward as this. 🙂

ParticipantThanks, Jennifer. That explains… well, it explains several things, actually. I have some things to redo… 🙂

ParticipantClaire,
If you read through the descriptions of the shortcode options you can imagine how your data structure could be applied. All I can say, with the little I know of your scenario, is that I could set up shortcodes with my data that would produce the result you are describing.
There is a free version you can try (see image), and the developer is very responsive to questions.
@Victor, I think all the MT staff on these forums should have some kind of indicator on their name or photo so that it’s clear who is responding officially and who’s not.Tamara Pickrell
ParticipantClaire,
Do you already know about the other shortcode option, the Events Calendar Shortcode plugin? It provides many more options than the TEC native shortcode, including featured image and filtering by venue ID. I don’t fully understand your scenario, but maybe this would be able to do what you want.

ParticipantYES! It looks like it’s working fine. Thank you so much! *happy dance*
Tamara Pickrell
ParticipantYes, that’s the one. I appreciate anything you can do!

ParticipantCliff,
For some reason I didn’t see your reply until just now.
As I said in my question, I don’t need to set up recurring tickets, which seems to be what you’re describing. My question would still apply for entirely free events. The issue is just how to use the “recurrence” feature so that events show up accurately on the calendar.
Again, any help on that will be appreciated.

ParticipantThank you for this explanation. I didn’t know that about how images are stored, and this is interesting and useful.
This issue is working perfectly now, and I will mark the thread as resolved.
Thanks!Tamara Pickrell
ParticipantThanks very much! That works perfectly. Just two questions:
1. I’ve set a caption for the venue image and I’d like to have that display along with the image. I added an echo line to the snippet and that works, but maybe there’s a better/more elegant/more proper way to do it?
2. Just curious — was I at all close in the way I was trying to do it? I really thought I was on the right track, finding the “Venue Featured Image” and “Organizer Featured Image.” It helps me better understand what I’m doing with Themeing if I know whether or not I was going in the right direction. Thanks!

ParticipantSarah,
I’m using a nice plugin called “Duplicate TEC Event” to do exactly what you’re describing. This adds a “Duplicate” item to the menu that appears when you hover over an event name in the event list — where it says “Edit”, “Quick Edit,” “Trash,” etc.
It’s a quick one-click process. You just have to be sure to change the slug, along with the new dates.

ParticipantWorks perfectly — that’s awesome!
Thank you so much for the quick assistance.-
