Wonderful that got the bug, thanks! My original intent was to move the export buttons to the bottom of the meta area on the single event page so i modified the code you provided to do that. https://gist.github.com/Numinous/bcc30f9d85a264d4cb734c42fe443ce1

I actually did a complete uninstall/reinstall of wordpress and its databases.
April 25, 2017 at 8:44 am in reply to: Importing recurring events with html in description and custom fields #1274112AnthonyParticipantThanks for the clarification. Maybe I missed something obvious, but the public-facing pages for events calendar and aggregator might want to present these importing limitations in a more upfront and clearer fashion. Would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.
AnthonyParticipantTurns out it was a bad initial import of a csv file into Viewminder – the app that exported my ics file for events calendar aggregator. Viewminder is sensitive to the Text Encoding of the csv file. There is no option for encoding a csv as Unicode (UTF-8) in Excel. Believe it or not, the Numbers spreadsheet for mac has a tons of options for text encoding and UTF-8 was among them.

April 12, 2017 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Filter bar showing too many options for additional field (checkbox) #1269125AnthonyParticipantHi Trish,
Thanks for the response. I did everything suggested in the testing for conflicts document.
The only thing i can possibly think of is that i imported my event records. I followed the instructions for importing a csv file with additional field of checkbox data format. The instructions specify checkbox field data to be in the format of “Option1|Option2” – each option has a “|” delimiter with no spaces between them.
When I go to the admin entry for an imported event, it shows up just fine with all the proper options ticked in the additional field(“Age Group”) checkboxes. So perhaps when the import happened events calendar created hidden data that concatenated the options like i’m seeing? Here is a screen grab of the filter bar anomaly displaying in twenty sixteen theme.
AnthonyParticipantWonderful Eric this is incredibly useful. Any estimate on the amount of effort or time to complete the functionality for preventing double booking on recurring events?
AnthonyParticipantCorrection: The conflict occurs in my shortcode derived lists and not in my widget derived lists.
AnthonyParticipantThanks for clarifying. i didn’t realize that the default behavior for the widget event listing is to only show image thumbnails for featured events. However i wouldn’t call them thumbnails as they take up the whole width of the list. I’ll theme them down to thumbnail size and have them show on non-featured events.

AnthonyParticipantWell it turns out that during the importing process the image urls are used to automatically download and add the corresponding image files to my WordPress media library. Nice touch!
AnthonyParticipantOk i decided to use a drupal module that exports fields via a view into csv file, etc. For anyone interested the plugin is called views_data_export. Still trying to configure it to export a url for event images. Wondering if after importing into EC, i can somehow transfer the url referenced images into actual files stored on my EC wordpress install?
