Hi Julie,

You could potentially use Community Events that way, although it purpose it was designed for. It’s a quite creative use for it really! I recommend that you look over the screenshots on the Community Events product page to make sure it wouldn’t be too cumbersome for your users. You could also go through the submission form on our demo site here (do note that you’ll need to register for the site first).

There are a few limitations that may or may not prove an issue for you. One is that the users could potentially pick any time they wanted for their event- including times when you’re not open/available, or times that other users had already “booked.” You can set Community Events so that all submitted events are held for approval, so that might be a way to make sure nothing got booked without being approved by an admin. Might that system work for you?

    Hi dolainc,

Thank you for doing such thorough testing, I really appreciate it! We have indeed confirmed that this is a bug in 3.5. The bad news is that we don’t have a way to fix this yet. But the good news is that we are working hard on a solution and it will be fixed in version 3.6. Plus, you won’t miss out on any features or anything- you’ll just need to do a manual update to version 3.6 once it’s released. I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we get this fixed.

    Hi Raivis,

Thanks so much for working on these! Once you are done with The Events Calendar files, I’ll test them both together.

    Hi dolainc,

Thanks for posting. You do not need Events Calendar PRO to use the Eventbrite Tickets plugin- you only need to have The Events Calendar and of course Eventbrite Tickets itself. Can you confirm for me that you are running The Events Calendar 3.5.1 and Eventbrite Tickets 3.5? We’ve had some reports of people not getting update notices, so please double check on your Plugins page even if you think you’re up to date. Also, are you using a multisite install? Thanks for your patience while we get to the bottom of this.

    Hi Jatinder,

It sounds like you have another plugin that is creating those social share icons. If you’d like us to help you, please start a new thread so we can focus on your particular situation.

    Thanks,

Hi Liza,

I replied to your other post before I saw this one, sorry about that. I’m glad you worked on Events Calendar PRO too! It looks like the above download links are both for the .mo file- can you link me to the .po file? Also, please check that you have updated it with the latest .pot file as instructed in the Getting Started post. That way it will be complete and ready for me to test :)

Best,

Leah

    Hi Liza,

Thank you for working on these. It looks like you were using a slightly outdated .pot file, so there were a few strings missing. I updated your translation with the latest .pot file so that all the new and changed strings would be there. You can download that file here. It would be great if you could translate those strings and send the file back to me.

Also, if you would like the files to be added to our plugins or you would like to receive a free license, please note that you’ll also need to translate Events Calendar PRO. It’s important that we have both of those plugins translated together. You can find the latest .pot files for PRO in our Getting Started post.

Sorry about the confusion there Ken. I’ll see if we can make that language a bit clearer.

    Hi Marcia,

Thanks for your note. Events Calendar PRO adds a number of cool features to our base calendar (The Events Calendar) such as recurring events, advanced views and widgets, etc. Community Events (a separate add-on plugin) adds the ability for site visitors to submit events to your calendar. Community Events can work with just our base calendar, or you can combine it with Events Calendar PRO as well. However, you don’t need PRO in order to have users submit events- just Community Events.

You can set Community Events so that all the events are marked as Pending Review, and you can edit and publish them. You can also require people to register with your site before posting events, so you then have their email on file and can contact them. Does that answer your questions?

    Hi immeemz,

Thank you for the further information. Since the French time format is working in most of the calendar, I believe the issue with Agenda view is that it’s either not respecting the French WordPress files or it doesn’t respect the WordPress Time Format settings. Either way, as I said, we are not able to assist with this.

I apologize for misunderstanding what you needed here, and I’m glad that you were able to figure things out. Thank you also for posting your solution so that others can see it. I hope that we will have an easier solution available for you soon.

    Thank you,

    Leah

    Hi amphoraarts,

Thanks for your note. There is no built-in way to do this with WooCommerce tickets directly, but there might be a way to do it using WooCommerce and/or a WooCommerce extension. I did a quick search on their site and found this one that might work for you. I recommend that you get in touch with the folks at WooThemes, as they will likely be able to point you in the right direction for this.

    Hi immeemz,

Thanks for your note. I am seeing your conversations in both of those places, and our responses to you today. Please note that we do not provide any support over the weekend, which is why we did not reply to you until today. If you’re ever trying to find one of the threads you started, you can also go to https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/users/immeemz/ where they are all listed.

    Thank you,

    Leah
