Hi Andrs – sorry for the radio silence. I was unable to get approval to proceed with the mod so if you need to close off the ticket thats cool. I do have other clients using the plugin so may come back to this at a later date.

    cheers

Cool. Understood. The less we have to create from scratch the better so I’ll give it a go on a test site if the client approves.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi András,

Thanks for the reply and for the suggestions. That really helps!

Editing the database does sound a bit full on – definitely something I’d need to do rather than my client – so basically are you saying that would clear the all the ticket info for that entry? Or just the number of tickets sold? It sounds like this might be my only option at this stage. The client won’t be happy about having to recreate all the courses again from scratch so at least this keeps some of the info.

The button on the entry screen sounds like an awesome idea! Again… do you see that it would perhaps clear the ticket sales info but keeps everything else such as price etc? If that could work it would be a game changer for us and I’m sure other users who need to duplicate paid events would find it valuable too.

    Many thanks.

Thank you for explaining this Andras. So basically no matter which plugin is used, event duplication will cause issues with Ticket Quantities.

    2 questions.
    1. Are you guys working on a way to easily duplicate events with tickets as surely this is a common request?

    2. Is there any work around so my client can somehow edit quantities of the events he already duplicated so it will work? Eg changing ticket qty in woo or something??? Or are you saying the only way I can get it to work is to go in and recreate each of these events from scratch? there are many events that replicate each term so I need an easy way around this for him.

    Thank you

For anyone following this thread I found it already mentioned on the user voice page – I’ve added my vote so hopefully we will get a few more:

Agreed. I feel even if you don’t deem this a bug it is definitely a feature that should be included. The benefit of having the ability to create a fieldset to use across the board is lost if you can’t edit it.

For anyone who has more than a few events it creates a massive headache if anything should change, as each event needs to be update individually which is incredibly time consuming.

    Thanks

    Hi Victor,

Thanks for your reply. In regards to the plugin I didn’t try it due to reviews and comments relating to the user voice post. The plugin hasn’t been updated in 8 months and I’d also read that it corrupts the slugs which made me nervous. Several posts on the matter in your forums advised to use the post duplicator plugin instead – I have tried 2 different ones both with the same issue with the ticket Qtys above. It may be worth a go but at present we are doing them all manually to avoid any ticketing issues or conflicts. Painfully slow but the most robust option for now.

    Cheers,

    Hi Victor,

Thank you for you response. It is good to know some of these issues are high on the radar.

There is already a topic for the ticket field sets issue here. I was told it has been forwarded to the developers.

Here is a link to the duplicate events feature / user voice page:

Thank you, I look forward to receiving further updates.

Make that 3 additional bugs to the above mentioned – the plugin seems to have no end of issues.

Honestly my client is very unimpressed and it doesn’t reflect well on me either. So disappointed.

    Hi Victor

I have run some tests and if I create the event from scratch the issue doesn’t occur. The problem is my client has many repeating events, it is incredibly time consuming to create all from scratch. Given reccurring events isn’t possible we need a solution for duplicating events that works.

Surely many other websites using this plugin have the same issue? I have scoured the forums and cannot see any other way to easily duplicate events other than by plugin.

I’ve also visited the feature request page for duplicating events and it’s shown as being solved however the plugin proposed is out of date and has bugs.

Given I moved the client from Event Espresso this is super dissapointing. On top of this issue there are 2 other bugs that are known issues for which no update has been made in the recent release.

    the XLS exports don’t work
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/attendee-list-not-exporting-correctly/

and there is an issue with start dates for tickets
    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ticket-start-sale-dates-always-revert-to-current-time/

Each of these issues are a big deal to my client and the first one in particular (XLS exports) is an advertised element of the plugin that just doesn’t work. I understand bugs occur but when you pay for a premium plugin you do expect that the advertised basic features would work.

I truly hope your team can come up with fixes for these issues soon. With each maintenance release I am disappointed to see they are not addressed.

    Thank you

Ok thank you. Hopefully a fix will be sorted soon as we have alot of events so updating one by one would be very time consuming.
