ParticipantHello standupmagazin,
It sounds like we may already have a solution that will get you the functionality that you’re looking for with the “filtering” of categories that you describe. Check out our Filter Bar plugin. This will allow you to show or hide events from any of your categories. It will also allow additional filtering for venue, organizer, price and more.
If you have any further questions about that plugin before purchasing, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks!

ParticipantHello sharon,
I just checked things out on the staging site and ran the testing for conflicts procedures and found that the issue is a conflict with your current theme. You’ll see with a default theme activated that the categories are no longer experiencing the redirect loop.
To help find the solution with your theme, my initial suspicion would be that there could possibly be some type of redirect or rewrite on the “category” slug that could be causing this. To diagnose, you can check your theme’s
functions.phpfile for any reference. Another potential spot of conflict would be checking the rewrite slug on any of the Custom Post Types and Taxonomies registered within the theme.Hey smpcherrypoint,
It’s usually best to open a new support ticket. This will allow us to ensure we’re able to respond to your request as quickly as possible. Additionally, since there could be different underlying causes, having them in separate threads helps to keep things organized.
However, as an initial step, have you tried the Testing for Conflict procedures? If you still have questions after trying those procedures, please open a new ticket and we’ll handle the issue there.
Thanks!

This definitely sounds like you’re on a good track with getting the functionality that you need. I think it would definitely be helpful for others in the community facing a similar situation to see a roadmap from someone that has been down the path before.

ParticipantHello screenrage,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I tested out on my local site by adding some new random Venues and they sorted alphabetically by default on the event submission form. Additionally, this dropdown should be styled with Chosen Select which allows you to search for items within the dropdown to find items more quickly.
If you’re not seeing either of these things, try the Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if there is something else affecting this view.
Thanks!

I can understand the desire to see this visual editor work alongside our plugin. Unfortunately I can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to solve this incompatibility issue here in our support forums, but maybe there is a quick solution that we can find by looking at the code directly.
I tried to find one, but do you have a link to where I can download the Fusion Core Plugin you mention?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello santafeplayhouse,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I can definitely see how constantly showing an empty month view would be unusable for your users. There are a couple of options that you could pursue to make this work better for this category.
- <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>You could follow this tutorial to have all your views “fast-forward” to the next occurring event. So, rather than showing just the current month, it will fast-forward to the next month that has an event. However, this won’t search all the upcoming events. </span>
- To search all upcoming events, you could try this solution that will automatically redirect your category views to the “List” view. That way, all events will be listed rather than just single months.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.
Thanks!

You can use our Themer’s Guide to override one of the existing templates such as the list or photo views that you’ve mentioned.
As far as the layout that you describe, a possible solution would be to use “get_terms” for the “tribe_events_cat”. You could then do a foreach loop to grab each term id to be used within a new WP_Query to output events from the current category within the loop.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantHello Roberta,
Thanks for reaching out to us! This is definitely a strange issue to be having.
I wasn’t able to replicate on a local install using a default theme so It does appear that it may be a theme conflict as you suspect. Unfortunately there isn’t too much support we can provide for specific theme conflicts here in the forums. Hopefully I can provide some help to get you pointed in the right direction:
- <span style=”line-height: 13px;”>Have you tried turning debugging on to see if there is an error being output on the homepage? This could provide some error notifications that might be useful in helping to diagnose the issue.</span>
- Since the pagination works with default permalink settings, you can install the Rewrite Rules Inspector plugin to see if that generates any errors that could help to determine the underlying issue.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantHello santafeplayhouse,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
You can override the template for the event details by using the Themer’s Guide to copy the “views” -> “modules” -> “meta.php” file into your theme and changing the order of the way items are output there.
Hopefully this should get you pointed in the right direction. If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Julio,
Thanks for reaching out to us. Typically, it is best to post new topics in new threads. This will ensure that your question is answered as quickly as possible.
But, to answer your question, that currently isn’t a feature available within the plugin. However, after importing events you can quickly turn them into recurring events by updating the event within the dashboard.
I’ll go ahead and close this ticket. If you have any further questions about the import, please open a new ticket and add a reference to this one if you would like. This will allow us to keep all of our tickets on topic and well organized.
Thanks!
