November 5, 2014 at 10:40 pm in reply to: Google Calendar Export Doesn't work with Sharing Plugin #863572Josh
ParticipantHello neueideas,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It looks like this is the solution for the Genesis example you mentioned above?
Since the main hook is modifying the templates built into The Events Calendar, the theory behind this should work with any theme. You’ll just need to modify the output of the Genesis Simple Share code to be that of the output for the Jetpack social share buttons. To start, you could take a look at this function and see if that can be used in conjunction with the hook from the previous snippet to get the display moved and Google working for both buttons.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.

ParticipantHello queensevents,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I took a look at your site and was unable to see the venue details duplicated on the link you provided or another venue that I looked at (http://www.queensevents.ca/venue/university-club/). Were you able to get this issue resolved or is this something that is still showing when you’re looking at the site?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello agershon,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is definitely a strange issue to be having. Are you currently using an SEO plugin that generates the sitemap that you then submit to Google Webmaster tools?
Looking at the URLs in the list, the majority of them will always be 404 errors since a “feed” of a single event doesn’t really exist. Feeds are only generated for the main loop for the events calendar (‘/events/feed’). Take a look at the settings of the SEO plugin where the sitemap is being generated and see if there is something that you can modify to keep it from adding “feed” to every URL.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

Can you send me a screenshot of the “Sort Events” text where it displays on your site?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello boaz,
Thanks for following up with us.
Based on what you’re describing, it sounds like this will need some custom development. One thing you could do would be to target all the events pages using the “tribe_is_event_query” conditional within your theme’s “functions.php”. Then, if the page is an event page, you can remove the default header image and then pull in the image of your choosing directly.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct response however I hope this was able to point you in the right direction.

It’ll be difficult to really dig into this issue without seeing the problem directly. One thing you could check would be the formatting of the shortcode. Is there possibly and open “<div>” that hasn’t been closed or maybe some other markup issue? You can test for this by using the developer tools built into your browser and looking at the section where everything breaks.
Thanks!

Not all the files are available via the editor under the Plugins section of your WordPress dashboard. To edit the appropriate file, you’ll need to access your website via an FTP client (Filezilla is the most common). You can get the FTP information for accessing your site from your current hosting provider. You’ll then take the file mentioned above and move it to your active theme following the instructions from the Themer’s Guide.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
