October 27, 2016 at 7:35 am in reply to: Issue with php code to over write "Events Archive" #1183716Josh
ParticipantHey Paula,
I’m testing using The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO versions 4.3.1.1 and Yoast SEO version 3.7.1.
Before adding the snippet (currently have Genesis theme installed with no child theme, however worked on 2016 as well) https://cloudup.com/cRzlPPnINbd.
And after adding the snippet to the functions.php file I get the following https://cloudup.com/cr_j7iAXBGf
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Jack,
Give the following snippet a try and see if it helps:
https://gist.github.com/BeardedGinger/db2769758a1a51abb968cdeb814da22e
This will work specifically with the Genesis theme here. Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Jack,
Sorry for the delay here. I wrote a Genesis specific way to address this but the issue persists no matter where I was hooking anything to filter the_content (not just with our ticket form) it wasn’t being password protected. There seems to be a general WP issue here with the password protection and I’m not sure whether or not it is working as intended.
The alternative will be to conditionally check for password protection prior to displaying the ticket form. I’ll need to come up with a custom snippet for that and will respond here shortly.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Greg,
Awesome! I’m glad this has been resolved.
There may have been an unrelated issue that was addressed in that that fixed this particular issue here.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to open a new one.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Kathy,
Definitely seems very odd, would you mind sending over a screenshot of the event creation date section of the event page (https://cloudup.com/cttdIq6tRsi)?
Also, do the pre-existing recurring events still fully work on the front-end of the site?
Finally, have you tried following our Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if there is a conflict elsewhere that could give us more detail about what may be happening here?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,
I apologize for my confusion here.
To clarify, when looking at http://www.zeeheldennieuws.nl/locatie/16840/ as it stands right now, at the time of this response, is that how you’re wanting the venue template to display? If not, would you mind sending a screenshot of the specific issue you’re having with the template now?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Andreas,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This spacing is due to the number of columns that are trying to have information displayed within those loops. As an adjustment here, try adding or Advanced Post Manager plugin which will allow you to quickly and easily limit the columns that are used there and allow them to display a little more evenly.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

Would you mind sending over a link to a page that you’re trying to output the shortcodes on so we can take a closer look at what may be happening there?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I’ll have to do some digging here on the issue of directing to the last instance of the event there, my instinct would be that it would direct to the primary instance of the event (the first instance).
In the meantime, you could direct to http://northwoods.church/calendar/refit/all/ where the top event would be the next upcoming.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Michael,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It looks like this is most likely due to your current theme and the layouts that it is expecting for a single template. If you try adding a featured image to the event, does the gray box go away?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantIHey Wim,
Thanks for following up here.
I guess the first question would be how you’re approaching using the sidebar template there? Are you using the Event template setting available within the Events > Settings > Display tab to switch to a different page template available within your theme (https://cloudup.com/cW_qSXIVuRR)?
Thanks!
October 25, 2016 at 7:11 am in reply to: Events Calendar – Custom search functionality with country #1182408Josh
ParticipantHey Martin,
I appreciate your feedback here and would welcome this to be added on our UserVoice page.
I can somewhat understand your concern here “why should I force a user to browse through all months when he looks only for events in couple months time?” However for 99% of the time, having the events filtered by an “Event start date” like what is included in our main search bar would give users enough date filtering to find the events they’re looking for.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Paula,
Thanks for following up here.
I tested the snippet out and it appears to be working as expected. Looking closer at your functions file though, I’m not seeing the snippet in the mix there? Where are you currently adding that snippet? Is it within the “custom_functions.php” file linked at the bottom there?
Thanks!
