ParticipantThanks for the input guys. On Stephen’s #3, this can already be done. A couple great plugins to help with this are: http://www.woothemes.com/woosidebars/ and http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-sidebars/
On #4, we may do some things like this in the future but I haven’t heard any plans for it.
For the rest, all I can say is to wait for 3.0. I can’t tell when exactly it’s coming but hopefully in the next month or two?
Cheers,
JonahJonah
ParticipantHi Joe,
All you have to do is make a copy of /wp-content/plugins/wootickets/views/tickets.php and place in an ‘events’ folder in your theme. Then you can make any changes to markup/placement that you want. That would be the best way to modify what is being displayed.
Does that help?

ParticipantHi Sean,
You can do this by making a copy of /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single.php and placing in an ‘events’ folder in your theme. Then open that and find lines 91-93, that is the code used to display the map. Move that wherever you want.
Does that help?

ParticipantHi Thomas,
We utilize microformats in numerous places to make event data more accessible. For example event meta data like date & time, venue and address are marked up with proper microformats attributes to better identify them. You can see this in action in the single events template by viewing the HTML and seeing where we identify items with the itemtype and itemprop attribuites as outlined by http://schema.org/
Does that answer your question?

ParticipantHi Imre,
Ok thank you. I’ll need to have a developer take a look at this because I’m not sure what else to do. That’s strange that it works for the automatic imports. I’ll make note of this to the developer. Stay tuned.
Thanks,
JonahJonah
ParticipantHi Imre, no you don’t need to have PRO to import images from Facebook. Can you please answer my above questions?
Thanks,
JonahJonah
ParticipantNo it shouldn’t remove/change anything and no, you don’t need to remove the plugin directory. Just overwrite it.

ParticipantHi Larry,
Not at the moment although I can attest to there being some really cool features in the new version. We’ll post a public announcement when the official word is ready.

ParticipantHi antonatangka,
The latest version of The Events Calendar is 2.0.11. I’m not sure why it’s not auto updating for you. I suggest manually updating.

ParticipantHi Cliff,
Unfortunately we don’t have defaults for the Google Map options. I’ve just created a ticket to hopefully get this added in a future release because I think you make a really good point.

ParticipantHi Larry,
You bring up some good points but unfortunately we will not be making any changes to the way recurring events are handled at the time being. We have a new version (3.0) coming out soon which is a major overhaul and has taken the majority of our effort. After this comes out we may revisit looking into improving the way recurring events are handled. But no guarantees.
Sorry I can’t offer up more here.

ParticipantHi antonatangka,
So which plugins of ours are you running and what versions are they? Please provide a list here so I know what we’re working with.
Thanks,
JonahJonah
ParticipantHi Josh, sounds good. I would just link directly to that month: http://www.mendocinomusic.org/events/2013-07/ – that’ll be the easiest way.

ParticipantCliff, would you mind either posting your email here or emailing to pro [at] tri [dot] be so I can pass on your info to Tim?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Cliff,
I’m sorry to hear about all the issues. We’re doing our best to fix bugs and run support for this and all our other plugins, while at the same time working on feature improvements. So, our Facebook Importer hasn’t seen too much happen in the way of changes or improvements but we have been addressing the bugs as they come up.
I’m going to have Tim from our developer group jump in here for #3 but I’ll address #1 and #2 for you.
1. Do you have these two check boxes checked for your imported events? http://cl.ly/image/3f2B3k0s0z2Z – those need to be checked in order for anything to show up. Check that first.
2. When I imported your (http://www.facebook.com/events/436971759702189/) event, it imported the organizer as “Blacksburg Live Music”. I’m not sure why it’s not doing this for you. It could be a conflict with another plugin. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to rule that out?
As I said I’ll get Tim to follow up on #3.
Thanks,
Jonah -
